The morning sun cast a golden glow over the village as Rei trained with Staraptor, the wind whistling with each powerful flap of its wings.
Rei focused on refining Staraptor's control over the wind, pushing its limits with precise maneuvers. Just as they were about to take a break, a familiar voice called out.
"Rei!"
Turning around, Rei saw Elise running toward him, her blonde hair bouncing with each step. She stopped, catching her breath, and grinned. "I have a gift for you! Come with me!"
Rei raised an eyebrow but nodded, following her toward her home. Elise's house was larger than most in the village, built with sturdy wooden beams and decorated with symbols representing her family's long history of raising Pokémon. As they entered, the smell of fresh hay and warm food filled the air.
Inside, Arnold, Elise's father, stood waiting. He was a tall man with a strong build, his presence commanding yet kind. His Dubwool stood beside him, its thick wool making it look even larger.
"Rei," Arnold greeted, his deep voice filled with gratitude. "Two years ago, you saved my daughter's life. I can never repay you for that." He placed a firm hand on Rei's shoulder. "But I want to give you something as thanks."
Rei listened silently, sensing Arnold's sincerity.
"Our Dubwool recently had five new children," Arnold continued. "One of them will be Elise's first Pokémon. But I want you to choose one of the remaining four as your own."
Rei's eyes widened slightly. A Pokémon—his own.
Elise giggled. "Come on, let's go see them!"
She led him to the barn, where four small Wooloo huddled together in a pile of soft hay. Each of them was fluffy and round, their wool pristine and well-groomed. Their black eyes blinked curiously at Rei as he approached.
He knelt down, observing them carefully. They were young, but even now, he could see slight differences between them.
Elise watched eagerly. "Which one do you like?"
Arnold crossed his arms. "A Wooloo may seem simple, but with the right training, they can become powerful Dubwool—or even something more. And wooloo does grow a lot of wool, if you take good care of it they can produce high quality wool that can be sold for a good price."
Rei reached out a hand, feeling their soft wool as he examined each Wooloo closely. He saw that of the four woolo. Three are red. And only one is yellow. Luckily this yellow is dark yellow meaning it's qualification is quite good.
Then he saw tbe woolo next to Elise, it actually has light green qualification.
Rei quickly chose the woolo with dark yellow qualification.
"Thank you Arnold sir for this opportunity. I will take good care of it" sad Rei.
"Don't worry about it, after all you saved my daughter life" said Arnold.
"Yea thanks Rei" sad Elise.
Arnold then handed the pokeball of Rei's new woolo. And so Rei welcomed a new pokemon to his team, woolo.
