Training Staraptor

The salty ocean breeze whipped through the air as Rei stood on the edge of a rugged cliff, overlooking the vast expanse of deep blue water. Below him, the sea churned with raw power, waves crashing against jagged rocks. It was the perfect battlefield.

High above, Staraptor hovered, its sharp eyes scanning the water for any sign of movement. Rei had brought it here for a reason—to train by hunting Gyarados.

"Alright, Staraptor," Rei called out, his voice firm. "You want to break through to the next level? Then this is your challenge. Gyarados is strong, relentless, and dangerous. If you hesitate, you'll be the one sinking."

Staraptor let out a sharp cry, its wings flaring. It was ready.

Rei activated his aura sense, spreading his awareness over the ocean. He had learned how to track powerful Pokémon this way, sensing their energy before they emerged. A flicker of violent red power pulsed beneath the surface—Gyarados.

"There," Rei pointed.

The water erupted as a massive Gyarados burst from the depths, its blue scales glistening under the sun. It roared, its fangs dripping with seawater, its eyes locked onto Staraptor—a challenger had appeared in its domain.

"Let's go!" Rei commanded.

Staraptor dived first, wings cutting through the air like a blade. It closed the distance in seconds, unleashing a devastating Brave Bird straight at Gyarados's head.

But Gyarados was no ordinary wild Pokémon. It whipped its tail upward, intercepting the attack. The collision sent shockwaves through the air, and Staraptor was knocked back, tumbling slightly before regaining its flight.

Rei smirked. "Good. If it was too easy, this wouldn't be training."

Gyarados lunged, its fangs glowing with Ice Fang, aiming to snap Staraptor out of the sky.

"Dodge with Aerial Ace, then counter!" Rei ordered.

Staraptor vanished in a blur, reappearing behind Gyarados. Its talons glowed as it slammed into the serpent's back with Close Combat, each strike sending ripples through the beast's massive body.

Gyarados roared in rage, twisting its body and unleashing a Hydro Pump from point-blank range.

"Break through it!" Rei yelled.

Staraptor didn't back down. It flapped its wings with force, generating a powerful Whirlwind to disperse the incoming water blast. Then, without hesitation, it charged in with Brave Bird once more—but this time, it aimed for Gyarados's throat.

The impact was brutal. Gyarados gagged, its attack cut off mid-roar.

Taking the opening, Staraptor ascended high into the sky, the sunlight reflecting off its sharp talons.

"End it!" Rei commanded.

Staraptor dove like a meteor, its entire body glowing with white-hot energy as it used Giga Impact. The moment it hit, a shockwave tore through the ocean, sending massive waves outward.

For a moment, there was silence.

Then, with a final groan, Gyarados collapsed into the sea, lifeless.

Staraptor flapped its wings, breathing heavily but victorious. Its body trembled slightly, its muscles adapting to the intense battle. Rei could feel it—Staraptor was on the verge of a breakthrough.

"Good work," Rei said, nodding in approval. "But we're not done yet. One Gyarados isn't enough."

He closed his eyes, stretching his aura once more. More Gyarados lurked beneath.
