Retired Nurse Joy

After passing his S-Rank Breeder Examination, Rei decided to stay at the Pokémon Center in Sandal City for a few more days. He was waiting for the arrival of the retired Nurse Joy, who would be assigned to his village's Pokémon Center.

Two days later, a luxury transport vehicle arrived in front of the Pokémon Center. A well-dressed Chansey stepped out first, proudly wearing a small nurse cap, followed by a beautiful, youthful-looking woman.

Rei raised an eyebrow. Is this really the retired Nurse Joy?

Inside a private room, Rei sat across from both the retired Nurse Joy and Sandal City's current Nurse Joy.

"You don't look a day over thirty," Rei commented, still a bit surprised.

The retired Nurse Joy chuckled. "Oh, Sir Rei, you flatter me. I just take good care of myself. Besides, you should already know… people who have bond with strong Pokémon age much slower."

Rei narrowed his eyes slightly. He did notice that powerful trainers and breeders tended to look much younger than their actual age.

The Sandal City Nurse Joy nodded. "It's true. My aunt here may be 50 years old, but because of her lifelong connection with her gym level Chansey, her body maintains its youth and vitality."

Rei smirked. "So that's how it works. I thought you just had secret beauty techniques."

After some small talk, the retired Nurse Joy's smile faded, and her tone turned serious.

"Sir Rei… there's something you need to know."

Rei crossed his arms. "Go on."

"With your achievements—being an S-Rank Breeder and a Heavenly King-level Trainer—you've just placed yourself in the sights of the most powerful families in the world."

Rei raised an eyebrow. "Why? Wouldn't they rather go after a weaker breeder who's easier to control?"

Nurse Joy shook her head.

"No, Rei. That's not how it works. The strongest bloodlines, the most influential families, and the elite trainers of the world will do anything to have someone like you marry into their family."

Rei frowned. "And why is that?"

The retired Nurse Joy leaned forward, her expression serious.

"Because King-Level Trainers have evolve"

Rei's eyes widened slightly. "…Explain."

She sighed. "You've felt it, haven't you? Every time one of your Pokémon breaks through to King Level, your body changes. Your health improves, your strength increases, and your lifespan extends. This transformation doesn't just effect you but also your future decendants. This is why powerfull families keep gatting stronger because their bloodline also keeps getting stronger"

Rei's mind immediately recalled the strange boosts he had felt over time. At first, he thought it was just his superpower evolving, but now he realized…

It was the bond with his Pokémon.

Nurse Joy continued, "When a trainer has a deep bond with their Pokémon, they receive a feedback loop. The stronger the Pokémon, the stronger the trainer. And once you reach the King Level, both the Pokémon and trainer undergo a transformation. Some trainer even gain superpowers or have their superpower strengthen."

Rei remained calm on the outside, but internally, he was piecing things together.

So every time my Pokémon reached King Level, it wasn't just my powers growing stronger… my body itself was alsp evolving.

Nurse Joy smirked. "And that's why those powerful families will be after you. They want to secure a strong bloodline, ensuring that their descendants inherit the potential for longer life and stronger abilities."

Rei leaned back, a smile forming on his lips. "Interesting. Thank you for the ifnormation nurse Joy."
