Chapter 6

All shareholders and employees had gathered for a company-wide meeting.

The main purpose of this meeting was to establish work plans and goals for the second half of the year.

During the brief two-hour meeting, Sarah had paused it five times intermittently.

Each time, the reason was either Quint feeling unwell or wanting something to eat.

The meeting had just resumed, not even ten minutes in, when Sarah's phone started ringing incessantly.

"Ms. Carlisle, if you're this busy, perhaps you should finish your affairs before attending the meeting."

I reminded her, my face expressionless.

Sarah's face changed immediately.

No matter what, I was still a company veteran and a shareholder.

In the past, I would never have spoken to her like this. Even if there was an urgent matter, I would have handled it for her.

But now, that would never happen again.
