'Thank my lipstick? What happened to it?" I thought inwardly as I watched him walk away. Quickly dispelling my thoughts, I stood up to go after him. Diana, still sitting in the position Dominique left her was giving me death stares as I approached.
"Well you might think you're special and young but—"
"well, actually I am young but go on," I said with a small smile interrupting her before she could finish. I watched as her face twisted in anger and oh that gladdened me.
"The point is! Dom just finds you interesting and when you've served your purpose he'll get rid of you" she said, her smile smug like she was so sure.
"Is Miss Diana speaking from experience?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, impatience flashing across my face.
"E-excuse me?!" Her face burned red. She looked flustered and I couldn't help but smile.
"Oh wait! Don't tell me he has never taken interest in you?" I asked hitting the nail right on the head. Observing her body movements, I could tell I was right.
"Ofc he has!!" She retorted.
"Ohh so he got rid of you when he got tired then? I guess he didn't find you interesting enough" I said in a provoking tone. I knew she could flare up at any moment and make a fool of herself, but I didn't have time for that now. I still needed to catch up with Dominique.
"Y-youu!! How—"
"Can we do this later? Thanks" I swiftly interrupted her before giving a small smile. Leaving her behind, I got down from the private jet and looked around for Dominique. Thankfully I saw him in a black car, probably a Rolla Royce not sure but I could it was very expensive. I walked towards the car looking as glorious as possible.
"Where we off to?" I asked as I got into the car, the leather seats providing comfort.
"A hotel, the banquet starts by 7pm" he replied as he gazed intently at me as if trying to figure something out. For some reason, I felt he wanted to say something but was holding back.
"Oh okay and is there something on my face?" I asked skeptically.
"No why do you ask?" he said his gaze not leaving me for a second. I was having mixed thoughts and it was freaking me out!
Is he trying to check for my flaws? Or does he low-key find me ugly? Or does he regret bringing me with him to the banquet? I needed answers before I went crazy.
"Your look is a little too extreme…" I said my voice trailing off at the end.
"Ohh" he muttered still not looking away. 'Something was wrong with me' I thought as I opened my phone's camera to assess my face.
"What are you doing?" he asked with a slight chuckle.
"Checking for myself what is wrong with my face duh" I replied perfunctory, my concentration on my phone.
"And have you found anything?" he asked still watching me intently.
"Well No, so why are you staring at me that way?!" I questioned, my voice raised a notch exposing how stressed I was getting.
"What color is your dress?" his question caught me off guard, making me raise my eyebrows at him.
"You're joking, right?" I asked as I stared at him suspiciously.
"I'm not" he replied, his eyes free of games or deceit.
"You do not know the Color of my dress?" I asked again, my eyes darting from my dress to his face. He looked serious and I was so confused.
"What color is your shirt?" I asked to ensure he wasn't playing funny.
"It should be black…Is it?" he asked back as If to confirm.
"What color is Michael's car?" I asked again.
"His sportscar? He said it was blue…Is it?" he replied calmly.
"So you are color blind?" I asked with shock written all over my face. I wouldn't have guessed if he hadn't told me.
"Like for how long? Is it normal or it has to do with your demon side? " I asked not waiting for him to affirm my thought.
"What do you think?" he asked me, his eyebrow slightly raised.
"hmm I believe it has nothing to do with your demon side," I said as I looked at him before taking out my phone again.
"why?" He asked
"just because I said so and mind you I'm never wrong!" I said as tapped furiously on my phone.
"You have Achromatopsia; a complete case of color blindness and it's pretty much rare." I read out from my phone before staring at him.
"You're so rare that even your eye condition is rare," I said with a small laugh which got me a stare from the driver. He probably thought I was crazy.
"What's the color of your gown?" He asked again apparently still interested in that.
"It's black Dominique, My dress is black but my heels and purse are red," I told him and I saw a moment of confusion in those eyes of his.
"Ohh" he replied finally retracting his gaze. I looked at him and I could tell he had something on his mind.
"Is something else the matter?" I asked with concern laced in my voice.
"It's just- you give off a different kind of glow," he said his eyes landing on me briefly before looking straight ahead. I was stunned for a moment.
"Oooh is that meant to be a compliment?" I asked, my lips spread into a teasing smile.
"Sir, we've arrived" the driver informed respectfully, dispelling my playful attitude. I looked outside and saw a building standing tall and sophisticated and I must say It was so huge I reckoned it would be a 5-star hotel.
"Not really" I heard Dominique say as he stepped out of the car. Thinking he was referring to my last statement, I didn't dwell on it too much. I stepped out and went ahead to hook my arms under his.
Another car soon arrived and Michael and Diana stepped as they walked side by side towards me and Dominique. They looked quite compatible I must say. I saw Diana's eyes rest on me and Dominique's hooked arms, her fists clenching to hide her jealousy.
We walked in together and headed to the reception, my eyes taking in the grandeur of the building.
"Mr. Dominique Quill, Mr. Michael Savis, Welcome back," The receptionist said, her eyes gleaming.
"We've prepared the 3 rooms sir" she continued as she brought out 3 room cards.
"3? There are 4 of us, Michael did you get them to reserve just 3 rooms?" Diana voiced out clearly displeased.
"Yeah, one for me and one for you then one for Olivana and Dominique," Michael said as he collected the cards and gave Diana one.
"What?! Why is she staying in the same room with Dom? You know Dom loves his peace" Diana exclaimed, her expression somewhat unpleasant.
"Let's go," Dominique said as he collected the room card before taking my hand and leading me toward the elevator. I noticed Diana's face turn ashen, clearly feeling embarrassed.
"Don't worry, Diana. I'm a quiet person," I said, trying to ease the tension, though I honestly didn't feel much pity.
I felt happy looking at our intertwined hands; I couldn't take my eyes off them. The elevator dinged, signaling our arrival, while Dominique still didn't let go of my hand. We walked a short distance before finding our room.
"Can I be the one to open the door?" I asked, gazing at him as if I would cry if he refused me. He simply looked at me before handing me the card, which I gladly accepted. I swiped the card on the automated sensor on the door, and it buzzed with a green light. The door clicked open as I slid it aside.
"Wow!" I exclaimed as we entered the room.
