In the following current of events two reluctant figures are caught.
Fengyu, the disillusioned younger brother of a ruler, floats above it all with cultivated indifference. But he finds himself 'sent' to the Temple of Mytharok against his will. On the other hand, Mokai, poised to breeze through the challenge, begins to crack under the weight of others’ expectations. And everything and everyone around them seems to have their own hidden agenda.
As their world collides with an alien one, they are drawn into the long fogotten history of the First Gates and the mystery of Firme. They must confront the open secrets long ignored, the forces that shaped the very structure of the universe and dangers that lurk beyond...
