He watched her sleep in a room he had prepared for her. While she was getting treated, he scolded Lei for being irrational and scheduled a family meeting once Clea had gained her strength.
He broke the necklace in their presence in a fit of rage.
"It must have been so special that you forgot I'll own you and what you wear! How about you have my brother instead since you cherish his mere gift over your servant's life?!" He roared making them tremble in fear.
"How long have you been watching." Lee asked from behind him. Yen didn't notice Luo entered.
"Have Luo take my place at the altar." He replied coldly recalling what Luo had confessed between the brothers.
"We'll deal with this internally Lord Yen, right now you have to perform your duties. For her sake." Lee paused as he glanced at Clea. How pretty was she to have driven his brother mad? Was she so special?
"Why are you worried about her? If you do care then spare her life from being taken if the king finds out you scolded her daughter for a punishing a slave." He completed taking his eyes off her.
"She's a human Lee, I have to treat everyone under my house with care." Yen replied getting up from his seat. Lin quietly walked in.
"I'll watch her while you prepare." Lee said as Lin broke in.
"I'll keep you company."He said, he always came into a room unseen.
"I didn't ask you pipsqueak." Yen mocked. He has always hated Lin, a part of him did. He was the last baby his mother had before she passed on after their father ignored the physician's warning of not having children after the fifth son, Lin was the seventh.
She heard their conversation and kept her eyes shut after she woke up. They hadn't realized it but she didn't know how to act.
"You're awake." Lee said noticing her eyelids movement.
"I'll leave her to you."Yen said as he left the room. He felt sad to see her in pain and felt guilty about it too, he couldn't face her.
-At the palace
"Why won't you marry him?" A woman in her late sixties dressed in a royal ball gown asked Han. She left for the palace in fear.
"It is his brother I love mother. Besides, he seems to have taken interest in Clea, my maid. I will not be a rival to my servant, he's not even human and he clearly has poor taste. He's a monster." Han whined crying and angry as to why her mother wouldn't understand.
#There's something she's not telling me.# The Queen, her mother thought. She pondered on what to do while watching her daughter cry, but she knew it was essential to have the Gu family in support of the royal family or to have control over the Gu family.
"Tai!" She called out as a male servant rushed in, he wasn't like the others. He was tall and handsome like he was fit to be a prince.
"Get me Prince Ian at once." She ordered hugging her daughter warmly. But she knew the king needed to know about it at once.
-At the Gu mansion
"The prince is here to see you.' Mhu announced to Yen in a quiet manner. He had a soft voice and still spoke inaudibly.
"I'll be with him. I have certain matters to attend to." Yen replied closing the documents he was revising.
"Clea will have to wait Lord Gu, besides she's with the prince right now." Mhu stated uninterested in his brother's business. He was considered to be the mean one.
"She's with whom?" He asked surprised.
-In the garden
"Does the Gu house treat you badly?" Ian asked worried about the wounds on the visible parts of her body. Tai didn't like the way he touched her.
"You should ask the princess and maybe my sister." Yen replied from behind walking towards them
"I'm treated well Your highness, please allow me to leave you now."Clea said stepping away, wanting to avoid Yen. He had done nothing but caused her trouble and it'll be bigger trouble if word got out.
"How do you feel Clea?" He called back not knowing how to start a conversation with her.
"I'm sure you can see her later. I'm here on behalf of my mother, the queen."Ian stated giving a chance for her to walk away.
"She can wait, my business is more important to me." He replied coldly. Yen, and the Gu siblings hated the royals but there was nothing Yen hated more than not being able to talk to her.
Their father, Lord Gu before he died was a ruthless man. He not only killed his men as he pleased but also stabbed the king out of anger when they had an argument after the king found out Gu's daughter, was birthed by the queen. It was the highest form of crime, treason but thankfully the king managed to survive. Out of love for his wife, the queen who was remorseful, he ordered the entire Gu family to be killed. To prevent this, the eldest son, Yen had to behead his father in front of the court to show the family's repentance and oath to never attempt it again. It was his duty to behead anyone in the family who offended the royals. Although he hated how his father maltreated them and their mom because he loved the queen, he still hated the fact that the royals made him a killer of his own blood.
-At the palace
"Han did what?!" She exclaimed after Ian narrated everything Luo had confessed to him in presence of his brothers.
"I was surprised too mother. But we must protect our honor and hers'. Let Luo face the law, we shall have him beheaded tomorrow. Or we can cut off his hands and carve his eyeballs out." Ian suggested coldly, he had gotten used to solving problems like that but he was extremely evil. Somehow, his mother found it reasonable.
"Fetch Han, I'll go inform the king. We shall have a beheading ceremony tonight instead of a marriage feast." The queen concluded ruthlessly.
#She can marry Luo too but where's the fun in that?# He thought strutting out majestically.
