Dad is Strong

The important thing right now was to cut off all relationships with those traitors and strengthen the security of the families' children.

"If you guys think so, then that means our Ruan family isn't worth it. Fine, let's do as you said. From today onwards, our Ruan family will not be polite!" Ruan Zhang was disappointed, but he was angry at their betrayal too.

"Is it all over, Ji'er? Your Dad doesn't seem well, I should take him away for a rest." Song Ning felt that her husband was on the verge of a mental breakdown, it's about time she took him away.

All these years that Song Ning saw him, Ruan Zhang has always been someone very gentle, considerate to others by nature. He couldn't bear to tell even a white lie, much less to kill an ant. 

Such a weak person like him, what would he feel in the face of such betrayal?

"Dad is strong, it's just that you don't know. Let him carry this small burden today, else he wouldn't be able to cope with the shock he gets in the future." 

From Ruan Ji's tone, Song Ning could tell that she didn't lie. She was astonished at her certainty, like how did her timid and kind daughter, who didn't know anything but playing and reading books all day long, have such a deep stare in her eyes? 

Also, it seems that Ruan Ji trusted and relied on her father a lot, huh? 

But as a child and parent, they didn't have such a close relationship before, did they?

There are many things she doubted about Ruan Ji, the seemingly naive and innocent daughter of hers. The immature and bright, clear eyes she had has now turned deem and dark, hazy with many secrets that Song Ning couldn't measure.

The light touch on her shoulder was familiar as the voice called out to her, "Ning'er, you should stay by Ji'er and take care of her. I think I'll be busy from now on, since those son of bit*hes are going to stage a drama."

"Are you alright?" Song Ning was concerned for Ruan Zhang, because he suffered a huge blow just now, yet he was worried for his children more than his well being.

"I'm fine, or to be exact, I have to be fine, Ning ning. I have to protect my children, my family. If I continue wallowing over the past, it will only hinder their growth. As a father and the head of the family, I can't risk everything."

"...!" Song Ning was astonished as she heard her husband's words, every word he said came from his strong sense of responsibility, it was to be expected from a well known family head, not from a timid and kind hearted husband that she knew.

Though his gentle and kind character was what attracted her to him, Song Ning was happy to see another side of his character, one that stood firm against any kind of storm for the sake of his family. 

A smile spread across her face as Song Ning nodded her head, "That's right. Family comes above everything. You must do everything you need to do, don't worry about us. I can still pull off a few punches to take care of our family." 

'Finally, looks like Mom is convinced now.'

Ruan Ji saw the harmonious atmosphere her parents gave off before sighing in relief. 

In reality, Ruan Ji knew that her mother took her father as someone with a weak physique and mentality. But that's to be expected of a former general who led thousands of troops in the battlefield. Song Ning thought of her father Ruan Zhang, as a weak scholar who was good with numbers, thus he managed the business and their family.

Since no one knew of his involvement, her mother suffered a huge blow in her reputation, causing her to become mentally unstable.

Now that she was able to convince her mother that Ruan Zhang can take care of such small matters like this, the tragedy from her past won't repeat itself hopefully.
