CHAPTER SIX
Elara's pov
"What happened to my room?" I barged into Ronan's office without knocking. He stared calmly at me from behind his table.
"Ronan?" I scowled at him when he remained silent.
"I told you I was going to prepare a room in my wing for you" he stated calmly.
"And I told you there was no need for that. That room is adequate for me" I argued.
"I will not allow my mate to be far away from me when we are under the same roof" he countered.
"Gas it occurred to you that I might not desire to be close to you?" I gritted out.
His eyes flashed for a second before he rose from his chair.
"We had a deal-"
"I know we had a deal. You don't have to bring it up at every conversation we have" I cut into his words.
"Then keep your end of it" he walked purposefully towards me and a low heat settled in my stomach in anticipation of his next move but to my utter dismay he walks pass me.
"Where are you going?" I called out to him.
"To show you your new room" he replied without looking back.
Begrudgingly I followed behind him, cursing my traitorous eyes as they scanned his broad frame which flexed as he walked in front of me. He climbed a flight of stairs an walked down the corridor before stopping in front of a door.
"The next door is mine. You are welcome to it anytime you want" he said and I nodded before gripping the door handle.
An involuntary gasp left my lips as I stared at the room which would be fit for a princess. The room was a soft cream with a king sized bed right in the middle. There was more than enough space to do whatever I pleased. There was a sofa stationed strategically at the window, giving me a clear view of the fields below.
"Do you like it?" Ronan broke into my thoughts.
"It's beautiful" I muttered, feeling bad for being so stubborn in the first place.
"There's a bathroom through the door on the left and your walk in closet through the door on your right. Your clothes have already been placed there" he informed me.
"Thank you for the clothes and for this" I gestured towards the room.
"It's nothing. Training starts at dawn tomorrow, you can meet me at the gym" he announced.
"Training?" I looked at him quizzically.
"As the Luna of this pack you have to be in good condition and you have to learn how to lead this pack" he shrugged as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"I don't think I'm ready to learn how to be a Luna yet" I muttered, shifting my gaze to the floor.
Telling him I wouldn't be staying long enough to assume that role would just cause an argument.
"Don't you train every morning in your pack?" He questioned.
"Not usually no. Just the recruits and warriors" I revealed and his face turns downwards.
"Things are done differently here. I believe that all my pack members should have the strength to protect both themselves and the pack regardless of wether or not they are warriors" he divulged and as much as I hated to admit it, there was wisdom in his words.
My wolf puffed with pride within me, proud at having such an admirable mate. I couldn't help but wonder if i felt that way because of the mate bond.
"Alright. I'll be there" I conceded, shaking off my silly thoughts.
"Goodnight Mi alma" his gaze was like honey on my skin.
"Goodnight" I whispered but he made no move to leave my room and if I was being honest I didn't want him to.
"I would also like to show you around my...our pack grounds tomorrow" he revealed his silver orbs never leaving mine.
I swallowed slowly, trying to contain the buzz within me at the correction he made when referred to his pack.
"I would like that" I murmured.
He looked like he wanted to say more but after a moment decided against it. Everything in me willed him to speak, to come closer to me, to convincee we were good for each other but I reeled those thoughts in knowing they were the mate bond speaking.
Without another word he walked out of the room with a soft click behind him.
I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding, reminding myself I felt nothing for this man and some invisible strings were at work here rather than my emotions.
I changed into my nightie, trying my best not to gawk like a fool as I stepped into the huge walk in closet. I settled on the comfortable bed within minutes and willed my mind to shut down and not relive my interactions with Ronan but my efforts proved futile.
I laid wide awake thinking about those piercing silver eyes and to my greatest dismay, they followed me into my dreams.
