Chapter 47:THE AWAKENING OF THE ABYSSAL DRAGON

Chapter 47: The Awakening of the Abyssal Dragon

Darkness loomed over the eerie silence of the double dungeon. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and the only sound that remained was the faint echo of clashing steel.

Rio stood alone.

His sword dripped with dark mist as the remnants of thousands upon thousands of Undeads lay lifeless around him. Their bones were shattered, their cursed magic dispelled.

At his feet, Iris and Retina lay unconscious, their bodies having endured the impact of the fall and the dungeon's corrupt energy. For an entire hour, Rio had fought alone, protecting them.

Finally, Iris's eyes flickered open. "Mmm…" She groggily sat up, her vision blurred. "What… happened?"

Next to her, Retina stirred. But the moment they saw the scene before them, their breath caught.

Rio stood at the center of an apocalyptic battlefield.

Undead corpses stretched as far as they could see, piled upon each other like a sea of fallen warriors. The glow of Rio's sword dimmed, its blade still humming with raw energy.

Both Iris and Retina were left completely speechless.

"You're awake?" Rio turned to them, his face calm as if he had just taken a morning walk.

"…You did all this?" Retina asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Rio glanced at the countless defeated Undead. "Yeah. Took a while."

The two girls were in awe.

A Presence Beyond Comprehension

After taking a moment to recover, they continued deeper into the dungeon. The passage grew darker, the walls pulsing with strange magical energy.

Then, suddenly—

Iris halted. Her entire body tensed, her pupils dilated, and she clutched her chest.

"Gah—!!" She suddenly coughed up blood.

Rio's eyes widened. "Iris?!"

A violent pressure filled the air.

The mana in the dungeon surged to an unimaginable level.

Iris's nose began to bleed uncontrollably. Her body trembled as if something invisible was crushing her. Even Retina, who had powerful magical resistance, struggled to breathe.

"This… This mana is…" Iris gasped for air.

Rio instantly pulled out a healing potion and made her drink it. Within moments, the color returned to her face, and her breathing steadied.

"That was close," Retina muttered. "Whatever's in here… It's something beyond what we've ever encountered."

The Dragon's Den

The passage finally led them to a massive cavern—the deepest part of the dungeon.

The moment they stepped inside, a pair of glowing red eyes opened.

BOOM!

A powerful roar echoed through the entire dungeon, shaking the very ground beneath them. Rocks crumbled, and the oppressive mana surged like a tidal wave.

Before them, an ancient, abyssal dragon uncoiled its titanic body.

Rio tightened his grip on his sword. "Well… this just got interesting."
