Chapter 35: A Villainess Gets Stalked (By a Very Persistent Vampire)

Seraphina wanted to disappear.

No, really.

If she could melt into the shadows and never be seen again, she would.

Because right now—standing in the middle of a cheering crowd, fresh from a duel victory she barely understood—Damian Valerius was looking at her like she was the most fascinating thing in the world.

And that was very, very bad.

"Shall we celebrate, my dear?" Damian purred, stepping even closer.

Seraphina took a step back. "Nope. No celebrating. I have things to do. Important things. Very busy. Goodbye."

She turned to flee—

And immediately crashed into a firm chest.

She looked up.

Oh.

It was Lucius.

The second male lead.

The cold, brooding, dangerously powerful nobleman who also wasn't supposed to be interested in her.

Lucius raised an eyebrow. "Going somewhere?"

Seraphina's soul threatened to leave her body.

Genevieve—still recovering from her public humiliation—gawked at the scene. "Wait. WAIT. Why are both of them here for her?!"

Lila cackled from the sidelines.

Seraphina mentally screamed.

Operation: Escape the Flirty Bloodsuckers

Seraphina took a deep breath. Okay. Think. You need to escape without making things worse.

She turned to Damian with her best I-am-a-reasonable-person expression.

"Listen, Damian. You don't actually like me. You're supposed to be in love with the heroine."

Damian smirked. "Oh? And who decided that?"

Seraphina frowned. "The game—"

Wait. No. She couldn't say that.

Lucius tilted his head. "What game?"

Seraphina coughed. "Uh. Life. Life is a game. Very complicated. Full of… surprises."

Lucius narrowed his eyes.

Damian just looked even more amused.

This was going horribly.

Seraphina tried again. "What I mean is—there are better women out there. Beautiful, graceful, kind, and not constantly in danger of getting murdered. You should pursue them!"

Damian chuckled. "But that wouldn't be fun."

Lucius added, "You're more interesting."

Seraphina internally shrieked.

WHY WAS THIS HAPPENING?!

The Great Escape (That Fails Miserably)

Seraphina had no choice.

She had to run.

But how?

Then—an idea.

She gasped dramatically. "Oh no! I think I hear Lila calling me! Emergency! Best friend in danger! Must go!"

Lila—who was sipping tea in the background—raised an eyebrow.

Seraphina bolted.

She almost made it.

But then—

A blur. A shadow. And suddenly, Damian was in front of her.

Seraphina skidded to a stop.

Damian grinned. "Nice try."

Lucius appeared behind her. "You're fast. But not faster than us."

Seraphina turned slowly.

She was trapped.

By two dangerous, overly attractive vampires.

And the worst part?

The entire noble society was watching.

Genevieve screeched in the background. "WHY IS SHE GETTING A REVERSE HAREM?!"

Lila took another sip of tea. "Because chaos loves her."

Seraphina's shoulders slumped.

This was her life now.
