Silver and his team, having trekked tirelessly through the dense forest, had finally neared the border of the Land of Fire. The intel they had gathered was critical, and time was of the essence. As they made their way toward the border, they knew the dangers that awaited them, but nothing could have prepared them for the ambush that came next.
Without warning, a sudden flurry of kunai rained down from above, accompanied by the deadly whistling of sand-made shurikens. Silver's instincts immediately kicked in.
"Get down!" Silver shouted, his voice carrying through the air like a whip.
The team reacted in perfect synchrony. Hiroshi leapt into the air, narrowly avoiding the barrage of deadly weapons, while Ryota deflected several kunai using his Gentle Fist technique, redirecting them into the earth. Kaori, ever nimble, ducked and dodged, but the tension in the air was palpable—this was no ordinary ambush.
"Aiko!" Silver shouted, his eyes scanning the battlefield.
But before he could make a move, a sharp whistle cut through the air. A poisonous kunai struck Aiko in the shoulder. She winced and staggered, the poison quickly beginning to take effect, her breathing shallow.
"Damn it!" Silver cursed under his breath.
He could see the poison spreading through her veins, and without missing a beat, he began to run toward her. But just as he was about to reach her, the earth itself seemed to tremble. Silver's eyes widened as the ground cracked open, and from the cracks emerged several Sand shinobi, their leader standing at the forefront with a cruel smirk.
The leader, wearing a sand-colored cloak, barely concealed his excitement. "It seems we have some Konoha strays wandering into our territory. How unfortunate for you."
Silver's fists clenched, his mind racing. They were surrounded, and Aiko was in critical condition. He couldn't afford to let the battle drag on. The team needed to get out—fast.
"Ryota, get Aiko out of here!" Silver ordered, his voice firm. "Kaori, Hiroshi—hold them off!"
Ryota, grimacing at Aiko's worsening condition, nodded and carefully began to help her move toward safety, using his Gentle Fist technique to steady her with every step. Silver trusted Ryota's calm focus to keep Aiko as stable as possible while he dealt with the immediate threat.
Silver turned to face the leader of the Sand shinobi, his eyes cold and calculating. With a flick of his wrist, he unsheathed his Kusanagi sword, lightning crackling along the blade as he infused it with Chidori-style energy.
"You'll regret this," Silver muttered, his voice low.
Before the Sand shinobi could react, Silver dashed forward with incredible speed, his Kusanagi sword crackling with blue lightning. He swung the blade with precision, cutting through the barrage of sand-shuriken that came his way, each strike of the sword accompanied by a crackling surge of electricity. The force of his Chidori-style attack blew through the enemy's defenses, forcing them back with a powerful shockwave.
But the enemy leader was quick to recover, his eyes narrowing as he raised his hand to counter. "Sand Burial!" he shouted, and the ground beneath Silver's feet erupted with a massive wave of sand.
Silver's heart raced, but his instincts kept him moving. "Earth Release—Mud Wall!" he called out, slamming his hands onto the ground. A massive barrier of earth shot up, creating a shield strong enough to withstand the oncoming wave of sand. The sand slammed into the wall with a deafening crash, but Silver held firm, using the earth to buy himself some time.
From the corner of his eye, Silver saw Kaori and Hiroshi making their way through the Sand shinobi ranks, cutting down enemies with calculated strikes. Hiroshi used his fire-style jutsu to blast through several Sand shinobi, while Kaori moved with unparalleled precision, her kunai slashing through the air in a flurry of deadly arcs.
Silver wasted no time. He could feel the ground shifting beneath his feet, and he knew they didn't have much longer before they were completely surrounded. He had to act fast.
"Earth Release—Stone Pillars!" Silver shouted, raising his hands to the sky.
Massive stone pillars shot up from the ground, blocking off the Sand shinobi's retreat and creating a wall between them and the team. The leader of the Sand shinobi hissed in frustration, his hands coming together for another jutsu, but Silver was already on the move.
With a lightning-fast surge, Silver darted forward, his Kusanagi sword crackling with blue lightning once more. He struck down one of the Sand shinobi before they even had a chance to react, the blade cutting through them like butter. With each swing, the lightning surged forward, disabling multiple enemies at once.
But the leader wasn't done. He raised his hands and chanted, summoning a massive wave of sand to engulf Silver. The sand moved like a living creature, overwhelming Silver's stone pillars and pushing them aside.
"This ends now!" Silver shouted, his eyes alight with resolve. He leapt into the air, his body moving faster than a blur, and he plunged his Kusanagi sword into the ground beneath him, releasing a concentrated blast of Chidori-style lightning. The surge of electricity split the earth, sending shockwaves through the battlefield and scattering the remaining Sand shinobi.
With a deep breath, Silver landed back on the ground, panting but steady. The leader of the Sand shinobi staggered back, his eyes wide with shock.
"You... you've got some nerve," he growled.
Silver's gaze locked onto the leader with cold fury. "I'm just getting started."
The fight wasn't over yet. But Silver was determined. With his team's survival on the line and Aiko's life hanging by a thread, he would stop at nothing to ensure their victory. The ambush would not be their end. Not today.
