The Shadow War in the Land of Lightning

Konoha's Silent Invasion

A year and a half ago, before his promotion to Anbu Minister, Tetsuma Senju was given a dangerous mission—destabilize Kumogakure from within.

Kumogakure was already in chaos. The ruling Yotsuki Clan was betrayed by their own trusted warriors—the Kinkaku and Ginkaku Force. A civil war erupted, dividing the village.

With Iwagakure and Kumo fighting Konoha on the frontlines, the Hokage saw an opportunity.

Tetsuma was tasked with leading a 50-man Anbu force—every one of them an elite jonin—to strike deep into the Land of Lightning.

Their mission was clear:

Assassinate key figures. Destroy supply lines. Sow chaos.

For two months, they became shadows in the mountains of Kumogakure.

First Blood – The Attack on Kumo's Supply Lines

Tetsuma and his Silver Team struck first.

They ambushed three supply convoys, slaughtering over 80 shinobi without leaving a trace.

They poisoned water sources near Kumo's barracks, forcing their forces to retreat and reorganize.

They assassinated over 30 officers, including two veteran jōnin commanders.

Kumogakure was bleeding.

By the third week, the Second Raikage finally realized what was happening.

Kumo's Counterattack – The 500-Man Force

In retaliation, Kumogakure mobilized a 500-man special unit, led by the Kinkaku Force, to hunt down Tetsuma's Anbu.

At the Valley of Thunder, they finally cornered Tetsuma and his men.

The battle began.

Lightning Release techniques filled the sky, illuminating the battlefield in flashes of blue and white.

Tetsuma countered with Earth Release jutsu, raising massive walls to block the onslaught.

Silver Team engaged in deadly close combat, using their superior tactics and assassination techniques.

For sixteen hours, the valley became a graveyard.

But then—the Second Raikage himself arrived.

Tetsuma vs. The Second Raikage

The moment the Raikage entered the battlefield, the entire fight shifted.

His Lightning Release Chakra Mode made him an unstoppable force.

His strength shattered the battlefield, turning stone into dust with every strike.

His speed outmatched even the fastest of Anbu.

Tetsuma knew he couldn't fight him head-on.

Instead, he used Chidori Kusanagi—his lightning-infused sword technique—to target weak points in the Raikage's defenses.

Every clash sent shockwaves across the valley.

Their battle left craters in the earth.

The Raikage's Lightning Armor made him nearly invincible, but Tetsuma's precision cuts left deep slashes.

For thirty minutes, they fought.

But in the end—Tetsuma's team was overwhelmed.

By the time the sun set, only 10 Anbu survived.

Tetsuma ordered a retreat, using the last of his strength to cover his men's escape.

The Aftermath

The Ghost War ended, but at a heavy cost.

Tetsuma carried the scars of that battle forever.

Even as Anbu Minister, he never forgot the names of the 40 comrades he lost.

And Kumogakure never forgot the terror of Konoha's Anbu.
