Seeing the wisdom in Conan's sharp eyes and his confident smile, Sengoku was momentarily stunned. His thoughts drifted back to his own youth.

"This kid… he reminds me of myself when I was his age," Sengoku mused with a faint smile.

In truth, Sengoku had already pieced together part of the puzzle surrounding Jeff's death. From the evidence—specifically the vomit—it was clear Jeff didn't die from traditional poisoning. Instead, the contents revealed he'd eaten a large amount of crab and pineapple.

Sengoku, as the resourceful general, knew the risks of eating crabs with pineapples. The combination could indeed cause food poisoning, but it was rarely fatal. On the open seas, this was common knowledge among chefs, and Marine cooks were no exception.

Furthermore, people in the world of pirates generally had robust constitutions. For someone to die from such poisoning, they'd have to consume an enormous amount—or there was another factor at play.

Something was off.

Just then, a team of medical soldiers arrived. They gently moved Conan aside and began examining Jeff's body. After a thorough check, the medic in charge hesitantly announced their conclusion:

"It appears to be food poisoning caused by eating too many crabs and pineapples…"

The medic's tone lacked confidence, but the diagnosis matched the symptoms. For now, no other cause could be identified.

Many Marines gasped at the news.

"Huh? You can't eat crabs and pineapples together?"

"I didn't know that! I had pineapple pie and boiled crabs for breakfast this morning!"

"Me too! No one told us this was dangerous!"

The murmuring grew louder, but the commotion was interrupted by the arrival of Garp.

The legendary Marine hero strode onto the scene, holding a pineapple the size of a watermelon in one hand and a crab leg as thick as a human's arm in the other.

Taking a big bite of crab meat, Garp asked casually, "What's this about crabs and pineapples? You can't eat them together?"

Conan's eyes narrowed as he listened to the ongoing discussion. The pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place in his mind.

"So that's the murderer's true intention!"

Muttering under his breath, Conan's gaze shifted to the Marine who had been holding Jeff's body earlier. His voice rang out loud and clear:

"The murderer… is you!"

The crowd froze. All eyes turned to Conan, and the chatter died instantly.

Sengoku, impressed, smiled and said, "Kid, tell us what you've figured out."

Conan nodded, stepping forward confidently to deliver his analysis.

"Crabs and pineapples can cause mild food poisoning, yes. But unless someone eats a truly excessive amount, it won't kill them—especially not a Marine who trains and works out regularly."

He pointed at Garp as if to make his point. "Grandpa, how do you feel after eating crab and pineapple together?"

Garp took another hearty bite of crab meat and shrugged. "Oh, I feel fine! Well, sometimes I get diarrhea, but nothing serious…"

Even as he spoke, Garp suddenly clutched his stomach. His face twisted slightly, and he tossed the food aside.

"Ugh… Sengoku… I'm going to need the afternoon off. Diarrhea. Emergency leave!"

Sengoku's face darkened as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Garp… I swear…"

"I'll settle the score with you later!" Sengoku growled, shooting Garp a hard look before turning his attention back to Conan.

"Everyone saw it—Garp only got diarrhea after eating so many crabs and pineapples! So… how did Jeff die? The medic said it looked like food poisoning, right?"

The question came from a Marine standing nearby—Steve, a popular figure among the ranks, who had been the first to support Jeff earlier.

Conan adjusted his glasses, the light reflecting off them as he responded. "You're right. It looked like food poisoning… but it wasn't!"

With that, Conan pointed to a spot on Jeff's neck.

"The real cause of death is here!"

The Marines in the front row leaned in to see what Conan was pointing at. A faint dot was visible on Jeff's neck—so small it was almost impossible to notice.

"I believe someone used a poisoned needle to stab his neck, which caused his death!"

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

Conan's sharp gaze shifted to Steve. "And as for who could've done it… It has to be the one who held him first and created the distraction—you!"

Steve's eyes darted nervously, but he quickly regained his composure. "Kid, you can't go around accusing people without evidence! You claim I killed him, but where's your proof?"

The panic in his voice betrayed him, and everyone could sense it.

Conan smirked. "Oh, I think you haven't had time to dispose of the poisoned needles yet."

Before Steve could react, Smoker stepped forward, calm but determined. He began searching the man without hesitation. Steve made a weak attempt to resist, but with Sengoku, Akainu, Garp, and Smoker all present, it was hopeless.

Within minutes, Smoker pulled out several poison-coated needles hidden in Steve's clothing.

The truth was out.

Conan expected Steve to crumble in defeat, perhaps kneel and beg for forgiveness like other criminals. But instead, the man suddenly broke free from the Marines restraining him and burst into wild laughter.

"Hahaha! So my plan failed after all!"

The gathered Marines glared, some even reaching for their weapons.

Steve continued, "If Sengoku or that kid weren't here, my plan would've worked! Everyone would've blamed the crabs and pineapples for Jeff's death!"

Sengoku frowned deeply, a thought dawning on him. "You… Are you with CP?"

Steve's smirk faltered briefly before he nodded, impressed. "As expected of Sengoku the Wise. Yes, I'm part of CP—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Akainu's fist collided with his face, sending him crashing into the ground.

"CP, huh?" Akainu growled, his voice full of disdain. "You've got guts to cause trouble here at Marine Headquarters. Killing our own soldiers… gives me all the reason I need to kill you now!"

Black smoke began to rise from Akainu's body, and molten lava started dripping from his fists.

Panic flickered in Steve's eyes. Scrambling to his feet, he stammered, "W-wait! I killed Jeff because… because of him! He was a spy!"

The crowd murmured in confusion.

Akainu's voice boomed. "What do you mean by that? Explain!"

Steve pointed toward Jeff's lifeless body. "I saw him multiple times hiding letters on the cliffs near headquarters. I swear, he was passing intelligence!"

A Marine stepped forward, trembling and teary-eyed, holding a handful of crumpled letters. "Are… Are these what you're talking about?"

Aokiji calmly took one of the letters and scanned it. After a brief moment, he sighed and shook his head. "These aren't Marine intelligence…"

The crowd stilled.

Before Steve could defend himself further, Akainu made his move. His arm transformed into molten lava, wrapping around the traitor like a fiery serpent.

"People like you," Akainu growled, "make me sick. CP scum sneaking into Marine Headquarters and killing our soldiers… You've lost the right to live."

With that, Akainu ended it, leaving no room for mercy.

As the dust settled, Akainu turned his intense gaze toward Conan. For a moment, it seemed he might say something, but instead, he simply gave a curt nod and walked away.
