Immediate Danger

"So, your power is blinding us all?", Joseph questioned with a snicker.

"I can see you all just fine though", in fact Tyair could see much more, even without looking in a specific direction it feels like he has his eyes on everything and everyone within the mist.

"I think we're in a cloud", Ken pondered aloud.

"Well, this is neat, but can you send it away now so we can go, remember the announcement, it must be serious if they want us to go to the disaster center", Mia reminded.

'How do I take send this away anyway', Tyaire wondered, until he thought to just do the same thing he did to conjure it. Feeling his connection with the clouds and willing them to go away, they quickly started to disperse.

Ken, already reverted to his original form, started making his way with Mia downstairs to the lobby of the condo apartment. Ty and Joseph weren't too far behind them, matching their urgency down the flight of stairs.

The condo apartment the brothers lived in wasn't too luxurious, but it wasn't frugal in the slightest. The building itself had a newer security system with a guard at the front desk 24/7, with cctv camera's stationed all around the exterior and one pointed straight the door, this building would've deterred any would be intruder.

After making it to the lobby, the group was greeted by all 20 tenants that stayed on the floors below fear and panic etched on to their faces.

"Hey, why is everyone standing in the lobby", Joseph asked in a loud voice, the crowd finally noticing the new arrivals looked at the door at once as if it was pre-planned.

Ty eyed the glass door suspiciously before confidently walking towards it, heart racing, not out of fear but out of excitement. For he had a feeling it wasn't just people that changed with the earthquake, and the mere thought made his blood pump in exhilaration at the prospect of this challenge.

Peering through the glass, Ty didn't see anything at first, only some cars crushed by debris on a road that barely looked drivable, heavy Plumes of smoke rising in the air from distant locations, and huge grey wolves attacking the people on that were on the streets.

"Joseph, you won't believe what I'm looking at", Ty said with wide eyes.

Walking up to the door, Joseph's mouth hung open while his mind tried to process the scene in front of him.

"Yup I'm convinced", Joseph said with a confident smile.

"About?" Ty asked confused about what his brother was talking about.

"Well, Ty", he said sarcastically, "I have had my suspicions since this morning, and the powers and the monsters just told me everything I need to know", he said assuring himself.

Already understanding where this was going, Ty couldn't help but stare at his brother like he was an idiot.

"I am asleep!" Joseph exclaimed, positive that this was the only answer.

"Joseph, I literally smacked you earlier and you said ow, please don't piss me off, you're not asleep meathead", Ty said in exasperation, then completely ignored Joseph.

"Ok so there are monsters outside, has anyone hit the panic button yet?", Ty asked the small crowd.

"I tried but it's not activating, I checked the backup generator, and it suffered severe damage from the quake", the security guard explained.

"So basically, we either wait for death, wait for rescue if it comes, or fight while making our way their", Mia concluded.

"Shit", Joseph said dejectedly, his earlier enthusiasm had gone like it was never there.

"Are you people crazy"

"Did you actually see those things out there"

"How could you ever hope to fight something like that"

Some people in the crowd couldn't help but voiced their outcry on the dumb idea of the suicidal arrivals, and who could blame them. The wolves outside stood at an intimidating 121cm at the shoulder, dense muscle coiling beneath coarse grey fur, teeth and claws with a sheen like metal, and a gaze that would weaken the strongest of wills.

"I mean no one said you all had to follow, if you do, that's up to you, but it's not my job to make that decision", Ty said rather bluntly.

"I'll come with you", a deep voice announced, someone Ty hadn't seen before.

The speaker was a man, and huge one at that; standing at 213cm with a body rippling in pure muscle, a Caucasian man, with a bald head and grey eyes, and a beard that'll put Santa himself to shame. He wore casual gym clothes and carried nothing else with him, which confused the onlookers because every resident had at least one or two bags carrying their possessions.

"It honestly doesn't seem like a smart move to wait in this place, especially since all the walls are mostly made of glass", he explained.

'Hmm, he doesn't seem too worried', Ty thought

"Cool beans, what's your name stranger", Ty asked.

"The names ray, I'm assuming you actually have a plan and aren't just going to run out there and fight right?" Ray asked seriously.

As an answer, Ty just smiled wildly and handed his brother his bag before removing the long wooden case from his back. "I have a question for you to, were u planning on trying to overpower a wolf that'll probably kill a regular tiger with just your body, or do you also have something special too?", Ty answered with a question of his own, already anticipating the answer.

Ray nodded, "I figured I wasn't the only one who became special, just didn't think I'd run into others so soon", Ray said confirming Ty's suspicion.

"HOLD ON!!" Joseph yelled outrage. Everyone turned to him wondering what the outburst was about.

"So, you mean to tell me that not only am I not dreaming, but there are actual monster's outside, people actually awakened abilities, and I was one of the ones that didn't get one; this can be happening!", Joseph said with a face full of injustice falling to his knees and holding his head in a dramatic fashion.

"So are you going to fight", Ty asked Ray, ignoring Joseph once again.

"Just us two against three wolves of that size, not to mention any other creature we run into while also protecting anyone who wants to follow us; Sounds like a death wish", now that Ray heard the plan, he wasn't too keen on it, especially throwing his life away for no reason.

"Actually, there's four of us, as long as you two plan on lending a helping hand as well", Ty turned to the couple wondering their thoughts on the plan.

Ken was immediately going to immediately reject the idea, prioritizing Mia's safety before anything else, but before he could say anything Mia gave his hand a soft squeeze. Turning his attention to her, he saw a resolute look in her eyes, a look he knew all too well.

"I will not sit here waiting for death", she whispered to ken leaving no room for refusal.

After playing tug of war with himself for a short while, Ken sighed. "Fine but Mia will be in the back playing support, she has a shield spell that can protect her and everyone else while we fight", Ken made his stance and had no plans to budge an inch.

"Fine by me", Ty shrugged.

"Is there anyone who would like to join us on this journey", he asked the crowd

There were some uneasy glances around the room, the people not knowing what decision to make until one brave woman raised her hand with determination. Following her example, one by one hands started to rise until everyone, even the security guard, had their hand raised.

"Great!", Ty beamed.

Meanwhile Joseph couldn't help but shake his head, "You know, you call me crazy a lot, but we both know you're the one actually insane", he said with smile and a shake of his head.

"Well of course, after all that's my charm", Ty smiled then squatted placing the case on the floor and opening it with a soft click.
