Chapter 7

The next morning, I wake up pretty early to get Lily ready for school. While she's dressing up, I go downstairs to help Sheila set the table for breakfast. We are having pancake, bacon and eggs this morning.

The aroma of the food immediately makes my stomach rumble. I decide to wait for the others to come downstairs before I eat. It's not my house after all.

By 8:30am, we are all ready to set out. I am about to ask where the driver that will take us is when Mr Ross who has kept quiet the entire time offers to drop us off in his car. I almost declined if not for the smile that took over Lily's face. It's clear that she wants to spend time with her dad so why should I stand in the way of that because I happen to have a few opinions about him?

We finish up and we head to the garage. To say that the garage leaves me stunned is an understatement. It's like I'm in car heaven and I want to live here. The car we walk towards makes my jaw drop even further.

"You have a 2024 Rolls-Royce phantom?! Oh my goshhhhh!". I start squealing and running around the car in excitement.

I am so absorbed in my world that I didn't notice them just standing there and staring at me. I clear my throat and try to salvage the situation.

"Well, the car looks nice. That's.... that's all. We will be late". Well, this is embarrassing. I raise my head to see both of them with smiles on their faces as they look at me. Before I know it, I'm also smiling with them.

Mr Ross brings out the key and presses a button on it. Without saying anything, he walks to the car and enters. Lily follows suit. Oomph! Just when I thought we were all becoming friends.

I sit in the back with Lily while Mr Ross drives. I start noticing him glancing at me through the over head mirror. When our eyes meet, he looks away quickly and clears his throat.

"So why are you following her to school? If I recall properly, it's not part of your job description". Here he goes again. I restrain myself from rolling my eyes and just settle on a fake smile.

"I just wanted to know her school and after seeing her off, I'll go to school cause I still have about two hours left before my next class...sir". I look at Lily and nudge her to help me out here.

"Yes daddy and I told her to follow me today". He nods his head but I know damn well that he doesn't buy it one single bit. Silence envelopes us till we reach the school.

Golden Middle School looks really simple but in a elegant kind of way. The two storey building is coated in cream and wine paint. Mr Ross drives into the car park. The parking lot is not too wide but definitely enough for parents to park and drop off their kids. Little children are being taken inside by mostly their moms. There is barely any dad in sight.

Lily and I alight from the car and wait for Mr Ross to pull out of the parking lot.

I look down and see Lily looking at something and frowning. I try to follow her line of sight. A black Mercedes pulls into the parking lot. A white woman on sunglasses with blonde hair comes down from the car. A little girl that looks to be the same age as Lily follows suit.

It's clear that she is her daughter because of the stark resemblance. The same blonde hair, skin and facial features. Although I haven't seen the woman's eyes, the girl has green eyes. They both look really pretty.

"Who are they?". I ask Lily. I notice that her eyes look red as if she's about to cry. I raise her chin up gently.

"It's Rina and her mum". That explains everything. The woman suddenly becomes ugly to me. She is so going to hear from me.

Lily is still staring at them as the duo locks hands and start walking in.

"Lily, you don't need to be upset anymore. I will set both of them straight for messing with you. Okay? So give me a smile". I bend down to her height and give her a hug. She grows stiff in my arms.

I hold her hand and give her a smile. She looks down at our interlocked hands and a ghost of a smile comes on her face. Good. That's some progress.

Thankfully, Rina and her mum are not in yet. It's time to start phase 1 of my plan. I make Lily walk faster so that I can do it before they enter the school.

As the main door is about to open, I push Rina's mum with my body and as I expected, she hits her head against the door and even almost falls.

A loud squeal fills the parking lot. She turns around in anger and looks at me as if she wants to end my life right here. She points a finger at me.

"How dare you push me, you dirty pig?!". I put on an apologetic face and behave as if I'm about to cry any moment.

"I'm so sorry ma'am. I think I may have spoilt your nose job. I really didn't mean to ma'am". I make sure the nose job part is loud enough for our growing audience to hear. Rina's mum immediately glares at me and comes closer to me. I take a step backwards as if I'm scared.

"I didn't have any nose job done! Stop speaking rubbish with your dirty mouth!".

"I'm so sorry if I've offended you ma'am. It's just that I know that rich middle aged women like to have perfect noses. I'm so sorry". The anger in her gaze intensifies. Very good.

"What do you mean bitch? I'm not old! Shut your fucking mouth!". A number of mothers in the parking lot put their hands over their children's ears.

This is going exactly how I want it.
