"I am sorry to disappoint you, Mrs. Wilson," I said, " James will be asking me to marry him soon and I plan on saying yes to his proposal and neither you nor anyone else can sabotage our happiness,"
"You must think you have a chance at happiness with my son," Mrs. Wilson sneered, "If you came here to see James, then where is he?"
My heartbeat increased as I stood there utterly confused while trying to grasp, "He wasn't aware I would be here, I came here to pay him a surprise visit so it's understandable if he is not here," I replied quickly.
"How stupid of you to think in that shallow way of yours Ellie, my son will never take you as a wife and that is why I believe he is out to pursue someone worth his time," Mrs. Wilson replied in a quick sharp tone.
"What do you mean by that Mrs. Wilson, what is going on, and where is James?" I asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, Ellie," she uttered in a voice filled with no remorse. "But James is getting engaged... to someone else."

　　After the judge had left the courtroom, The entire legal team of ANS Inc. stormed out of the courtroom in anger. The verdict given by the judge didn't sit well with them and they didn't expect Ellie to stand up to them, the way she did.


　　I stood up from where I was seated and walked up to Ellie who was surrounded by the rest of the team.


　　At that moment, I couldn't help but admire Ellie. Her strength, resilience, and intelligence have always stood out to me and I couldn't be any more proud of how she handled everything during today's hearing.


　　"And who do we have here, the star of the day," I said walking up to them and everyone applauded her, cheering and commending her performance.


　　"You guys, You all are going to make me cry," Ellie responded covering her face with her hands. One could tell how happy she was as she couldn't stop smiling.


　　"You did a really good job today Ellie," I said with a warm smile and she looked at me smiling.
