CHAPTER 57 Don't Flatter Me

  Ryan's POV

I have no idea what to think right now, After Ellie's behavior. But what did she mean by "What do I expect her to say?" I thought she said she wanted to keep things professional.

Then why is all this drama? There were more questions than answers. None of which I was certain I'd get.

Moments after my met with Ellie, I heard a knock on my door. "Come in," I replied, and Sandra swooped in with takeouts in her hands.

"No, you shouldn't have," I said as she approached in with them.

"I had to, you've been working all day and I know you need this," she replied.

"Okay then, let me wrap this up," I said and cleared some of the papers off my desk, creating space.

She handed over the paper bag and I got the package out.

It was fries and cola, not the ideal lunch but it'll get me through the day.

"This. This is very nice," I complemented the food.

  "You think so?" She asked.

"Are you kidding? It's great," I replied. Making her smile.
