CHAPTER 95 Playing A Fool

  Evelyn's POV

I noticed she was behaving strangely and I had no idea if it was because I didn't call before showing up.

She opened her mouth, then shut it again, shifting uncomfortably.

"Sophia?" I prompted, feeling suspicious and awkward.

"About Caleb…" she started, but before she could finish, a voice called from deeper inside the house.

"I heard some noises. Are you—"

The voice cut off abruptly the minute I was sighted.

I turned toward the sound, and my breath caught.

He stood there, frozen in the doorway, his shirt was rumpled, his hair was also slightly messy—like he had just rolled out of bed.

I turned back to Sophia, with my eyes wide open.

"Oh… oh…" I said, slowly nodding my head..

Sophia sighed, rubbing her head. "It's nothing serious."

  I gave her a look.

"Can we focus, please?" Sophia said.

Caleb stepped forward, furrowing his brows. "Nathan has been captured?"
