CHAPTER 36 Confusion

  Avery's POV

I sat motionless on the edge of the bed, my body trembling from exhaustion and confusion. The room I found myself in was dimly lit, the soft glow of a single lamp casting shadows across the wooden walls.

The faint hum of voices outside the door was a sharp reminder that I was still a prisoner regardless of the cell I was put in, it did little to steady my nerves.

My wrists throbbed from the bindings I'd worn earlier, and my head was still spinning. It had been hours, or was it days? Since I'd been captured, and the details of how I ended up here were a haze.

The man—Dylan, the Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack stood a few feet away, his sharp gaze fixed on me like a predator assessing its prey. Yet, there was something different in his eyes.

"Get the doctors," he commanded, his voice firm yet oddly calm. "Now."
