Dylan's POV
The moment Avery's eyes locked onto mine, a spark of recognition, mixed with something else, something harder, ignited within me. I knew she was testing me, or at least she was trying to test her new ability on me.
Her gaze, sharp and penetrating, felt like a physical touch, probing, searching, dissecting the layers of my being.
Her newfound power, the ability to extract the truth, to strip away the masks and expose the raw, unfiltered reality, was something I had anticipated. I wanted to feel her in my mind, I wanted to feel her in my soul and every other part of me.
I had heard whispers of it had drifting through the villa like the wind, rumors carried on the backs of hushed voices; Avery had the power to get people to say the truth.
I wasn't scared of her using it on me because I had no reason to. I had no lies to hide. No secrets to protect. The truth, however painful, however complicated, was all I had to offer her.
