Caleb's POV
I had barely taken my seat in my office when a soft knock at the door interrupted my thoughts. "Come in," I called, my voice steady but my mind still turning over the earlier encounter in the showroom.
The door opened to reveal Victoria. She stepped in, her posture polished and professional, though I caught the flicker of hesitation in her movement. The tension from her confrontation with Lily and Ethan hadn't entirely dissipated. Yet, to her credit, she still carried herself with remarkable composure.
"Mrs. Blackwood," she began, her voice steady and sincere, "thank you for stepping in earlier. I'm not sure how things would've ended if you hadn't."
I waved a hand, leaning back in my chair. "There's no need to thank me, Victoria. It's my responsibility to ensure my employees are treated with respect—especially those who handle themselves as professionally as you did."
