Victoria's POV
The morning sunlight filtered through the blinds of my office, but its warmth did little to ease the tension in my chest. My head was still spinning from last night; Dominic's touch, his kiss, and the intensity in his eyes. As much as I tried to push it aside, the memory lingered, refusing to let go.
And it constantly had the pit of my stomach heating up.
I had barely stepped into the office when the whispers began. Everywhere I turned, people exchanged knowing glances, their eyes lighting up as I passed. It didn't take long to realize why.
The auction.
Dominic's display of power and all had everyone now going me like I was something brand new. I caught snippets of conversations as I walked to my desk.
"Did you see the pictures online? She looked stunning."
"Wait, that was really Victoria Hawthorne? No wonder Caleb's line is blowing up."
"I heard Dominic Blackwood himself bought it. For her, apparently!"
