Dominic's POV
The conference room was dead silent, save for the monotonous voice of the financial director as he went over the quarterly projections. I leaned back in my chair, my fingers tapping against the polished wood table, waiting for an opportunity to wrap this up. Time was money, and they were wasting both.
Then my phone vibrated.
I pulled it out, intending to ignore the call, but Ethan's name flashed on the screen. My jaw tightened. Whatever he wanted, it could hardly be good.
Without a word, I stood, ignoring the confused looks from the executives. I strode out of the room, the heavy door slamming shut behind me, and pressed the phone to my ear.
"What is it?" I snapped, not bothering to hide my irritation.
"Dominic." Ethan's voice was a frantic mess, shaking with panic. "It's Victoria. She's been kidnapped."
