CHAPTER 90 The Search Continues

  Dominic's POV

I couldn't help but picture her — her wide brown eyes, that damnable wit, the way her presence seemed to calm everything in its orbit. To imagine her frightened or hurt was a pain I couldn't bear, a pain that clawed at me with every minute that passed.

As the hours passed and every lead I followed turned into a dead-end, my anxiety only grew. Ethan and I had agreed to search separately, though neither of us had much hope of finding her anytime soon. The city was vast, the world even more so. But my gut told me that somewhere, out there, she was alive, waiting for me.

I barely registered how much time had passed before my team finally made progress. A tip came in — someone saw a woman, fitting Victoria's description, at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. My heart dropped into my stomach. I didn't wait for confirmation. I didn't wait for anyone.

"Get the car ready," I said, already stepping toward the door.
