CHAPTER 91 Fear

  Victoria's POV

When I opened my eyes, there was nothing but darkness. My head throbbed, a sharp, relentless ache, and my limbs felt as if they were weighed down with lead. Panic swirled through me as I tried to move, only to feel the rough bite of rope against my wrists and ankles. I was tied, bound so tightly that every small movement sent sharp stabs of pain shooting through my joints.

  Where was I?

I swallowed hard, my throat dry and raw, as I tried to piece together what had happened. I remembered leaving the office later than usual, craving Chinese food. I had planned to grab takeout on the way home, settle on the couch, and watch a mindless rom-com to unwind. But that plan was obliterated in an instant.

I remembered the shadow. The sudden grip on my arm. The stifling cloth pressed against my mouth. And then—nothing. Just blackness.
