CHAPTER 33: Interruption

  Evelyn's POV

The moment was nothing short of magical; I didn't want it to end; I wanted Nolan to carry on. But that blissful moment was shattered the second a loud thud sounded on the locked door.

"Nolan, what was that? Who is it?" I gasped, my heart racing with alarm. I pulled away from his reach and noticed his expression shifted from heated passion to utter annoyance. "Someone is at the door; they better have a damn good reason for this interruption." He said his tone deep with frustration.

"I don't know,"... I began, but he shook his head sharply, his jaw clenched.

"It better not be anyone without a good reason or looking for trouble." With that, he moved toward the door and opened it to reveal a guard standing there, wide-eyed and flustered.

"Uh, hey! I didn't mean to interrupt, Alpha Nolan." The guard stammered, his hands raised defensively and his cheeks flushed. His gaze shifted nervously between Nolan and me, who was still reeling from the disruption.
