CHAPTER 69 Rash

  Eryn POV

'Get up,' a voice echoes through my mind.

'I can't,' I call back to the voice silently.

'You are not weak,' the voice tells me. 'Get up.'

While I am huddled on the ground, I stop feeling sorry for myself. Anger fills my veins, and I am out for revenge. Kyle will rue the day he dared to touch me. It is like Atticus told me. He wouldn't always be around to protect me. So, I have to learn to protect myself.

I am struggling to get to my feet when the curtain is pulled back. Zach takes one look at me and leaves the room. He returns with a meek-looking nurse at his side. She is unable to look at me.

I can see the guilt in her eyes. She knew what went on in this room and did nothing to stop it.

"Get her some clothes," my brother demands.

The nurse runs from the room, and Zach kneels beside me. He tugs on the silver collar, but he can't get it off. As he manipulates the collar, the bandage covering my mark falls from my neck.
