CHAPTER 45 Homecoming

  Taking the lasagna out of the oven, I place it in the center of the dining room table. Dad just called and said that he and Mom would be home in about ten minutes. I pull three plates out of the cupboard and place them neatly around the table, along with forks and knives. Taking my seat at the table, I wait.  

  Nerves are bubbling in my stomach as I try to keep myself from getting too excited. I haven't seen or spoken to my mother in about a month. Every time I tried to call, she was sleeping, or tests were being run. I do not know what to expect when she walks through that door.
