CHAPTER 65 I Don't Belong

  LUKE

Kat falls asleep easily beside me, but I am unable to. My mind has a million thoughts running through it at the same time and I can't quiet them. I try not to toss and turn, so I don't wake up Kat. I shift awkwardly onto my back and stare up at the ceiling. Kat snuggles into my side and sighs contently.

I close my eyes trying to force myself into sleep, when David's voice comes blaring through my mind.

'Alpha,' he calls out through the mind link. 'We have a problem.'

  'What is wrong?' I ask.

'Jeff wasn't in the room when I went to fetch him,' David says.

'Fuck!' I scream through the mind link. 'Why didn't you contact me sooner?'

'I came to your door,' David hesitates. 'But you sounded busy.'

'You should have interrupted,' I growl at David.

'No, I shouldn't have,' David replies. 'You two needed to make up. What do you want to do about Jeff?'

'We need to search his room,' I groan. 'I will be right there.'
