CHAPTER 66 Pictures

I run out of the pack house. The sun is beginning to rise, and people are starting to gather in the streets outside. I pause on the front porch, realizing what it must look like. I am in nothing but a pair of Luke's sweats and an old t-shirt, and my hair is a mess.

Everyone seems to look in my direction, and I wave awkwardly at them. A loud squeal catches my attention and a little girl is running in my direction.

"Luna!" She squeals again. Her blonde hair is flying wildly behind her.

"Abigale," I say, forcing a fake smile onto my lips.

Abigale wraps her arms around my legs and hugs me tightly. "I am so glad you finally came to be our Luna."

Her mother, Sophia, comes running up after her. She grabs Abigale around the shoulders and tries to pull her away from me, but Abigale holds on tightly.

Sophia's mother blushes. "I am so sorry," she says through gritted teeth. "Abigale has missed you so much."

"I have missed her too," I respond honestly.
