'You care for her because she belongs to you,' my wolf replies.
'She is a human,' I remind him. 'She is stumbling over her words like an idiot. Nope. Absolutely not. I will not take this human as my mate. She is not worthy to be a Luna,'
'You are stubborn to change. Just like the rest of your pack,' my wolf replies.
'I am not like them,' I growl at my wolf.

The Heart of the Texan Alpha

　　After Kat leaves my office, I feel the need for a run. So much has happened over the past twenty-four hours I need some time to process it all. 


　　Reaching out through the mind link, I call out to David. 'I am going for a run. I will check the perimeter for signs of Jeff.'    


　　'I will hold down the fort,' David replies. 


　　'Don't let Kat out of your sight,' I tell him. 


　　I can hear David's sigh through the mind link. 'Will do.'


　　I know he has reservations about being around Kat. They don't exactly have the best relationship. But that is a problem for another day. Right now, I need to clear my mind and find Jeff. 


　　Stepping out of my office, I see a number of Omegas in the hallway. They are all standing awkwardly with their hands clasped in front of them. All of them have their eyes glued to the ground before them. 


　　Clearing my throat loudly, I catch their attention. The one standing closest to me raises their head and looks at me with wide eyes.
