"Dad, you can't be serious!" I could feel the heaviness rise in my chest, as my father explains he has arranged for my hand in marriage. 
"You know why this is a good idea. If the truth comes out, the pack would question your ability to lead; it is for the best." Dad explains as if it is the most natural and simplest solution.

　　I can feel all of Alex's sorrow through our bond. I am exhausted from shifting and Lady expelling so much of her powers, but I must remain by man's side.


　　He is hurting, and he needs me. "We will be fine. I just need to rest. You need to eat. It is important for your own strength that you eat something as soon as possible. I am placing a block up to rest, but I will be right here if you need me." Lady tells me.


　　She curls up into a tight ball and shuts off our connection. Alex turns to face, as we stand outside of the kitchen keeping an eye on his mother and Sarah's mother.


　　"What now?" Alex asks in the most defeated tone. 


　　"We will figure it out together. I am not sure, but I will be by your side, every step of the way." I tell him, while rubbing small circles on his back.
