CHAPTER 28

  Alec's POV

I button the top of my crisp white shirt and then turn to grab my cufflinks off the nightstand, only to find my adorable mate standing behind me, smiling adoringly.

"Hey," I reach for her but she shakes her head and then dangles the cufflinks from her fingers.

"Let me help you get ready," she proceeded to snap the cufflinks in place at the end of each of my sleeves and then ran her hands along the front of my shirt. "Perfect."

"Indeed, you are," I whispered as my arm snaked around her waist and drew her in close. The smell of lavender and something else filled my nostrils as I buried my face into the cradle of her neck. "You smell like a garden."

She giggled and then pulled back to place her hands at both sides of my face, angling my head so that she was looking directly into my eyes. "Yes, well, that happens when people take a shower." A single eyebrow popped up into her soft fringe at her forehead as she watched me closely.
