CHAPTER 29

  Unknown POV

The restaurant was tucked away on a quiet street, its low lighting casting long shadows on the walls. A soft hum of conversation mingled with the clinking of glasses, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and clandestine.

At a corner table, a woman sat with her back to the door, her silhouette shrouded in mystery. Her dark hair fell in waves over her shoulders, and the glint of a silver bracelet caught the light as she absentmindedly traced the rim of her wine glass. She wore a fitted black dress that hinted at elegance, but her posture was tense, betraying an underlying urgency.

I slowly made my way to the table and occupied the vacant seat across from her. The woman flinched slightly before regaining her quiet composure, lifting the wine glass to her lips and taking a slow sip of the crimson contents.
