CHAPTER 36

  Christopher's POV

I lounged in my penthouse, sipping a cup of Earl Grey and gazing at the twinkling Los Angeles skyline.

My moment of peace was shattered by the shrill ring of my phone. I glanced at the screen and groaned. Valentina. Again.

I answered with a sigh. "What is it now, Val?"

"Chris, do you remember about my friend Tiffany I mentioned last time?" Valentina's voice dripped with saccharine sweetness.

"Vaguely. What about her?"

"Well, you're in luck! She's at your hotel right now. Room 808. Be there in 20 minutes."

"Excuse me? For what exactly?"

"For a date, silly! I've set it all up."

I groaned loud enough for Valentina to hear. "Val, we've been over this. Stop trying to set me up on blind dates. I'm a grown man, for Christ's sake."

"Oh, don't be such a grump. Tiffany's lovely. Just meet her."

"No. And don't call me again if you're planning to ambush me with more surprise dates."
