  Olivia's POV

  The sleek sports car purred along the winding road, streetlights growing scarcer as we left the city behind. I shifted in my seat, trying to get comfortable despite the growing unease in my stomach.

  "So, are you going to tell me where we're going, or is this some kind of kidnapping situation?" I joked, aiming for lightness but not quite hitting the mark.

  Christopher's eyes flicked to me, full of mischief. "Actually, yes. I am kidnapping you."

  I laughed nervously. "Come on, that's not funny."

  "Who said I was joking? I'm going to lock you up for a few days."

  "Okay, seriously. Cut it out."

  His lips curled into a wicked grin, his eyes gleaming in the dim light of the car's interior. "Oh, I am serious, darling. Dead serious."

  My heart skipped a beat. "Christopher, this isn't funny anymore."

  "Who said I was trying to be funny? I've got plans for you, Olivia. Big plans."

  I swallowed hard, my mouth suddenly dry. "What kind of plans?"
