CHAPTER 78 A Calamity

The "Wildfire Night" festivities were unlike anything I had seen before. A unique bonfire party was held by the riverside. After dinner, we made our way to the event.

The bonfire had already been set up, and there were a good number of people gathered around, many of them young men and women in traditional Dai attire. Most of the crowd were tourists, like us. The melodies of Dai songs were light and joyous, easily lifting people's spirits.

As we approached, a few Dai girls eagerly came up to invite us to join them. Everyone formed a large circle around the fire, singing and dancing. We didn't know the song or the dance, so we tried to mimic their moves clumsily, looking rather silly. But after a while, we managed to keep up with their rhythm.
