CHAPTER 36

  Dario's POV

I couldn't stop staring at Aubrey as she walked about in the hall. She looked exquisitely beautiful unlike the woman I brought.

And I must say, I regret ever letting her go. If I hadn't key her go then my life wouldn't have been a mess. My grandfather wouldn't be laying on the hospital bed, fighting for his life.

I was foolish to have listened to my mother's advice. I should have endured the marriage.

"Dario, darling, aren't you glad you came?" Sophia's voice echoed in my ears, interrupting my thoughts.

  I hissed, glaring at her.

"You don't have to look like your problems, you know. Cheer up and mingle with better people." She hissed.

"Leave me be, Sophia! I'm not stopping you from mingling with the guests. " I thundered, and she flinched.

"Your life is now a mess, and we are all aware. But don't you think, standing here and staring shamelessly and hopelessly at Aubrey will not change anything?" She asked, eyeing me.
