CHAPTER 70

  Dario's POV

"Sophia?" I said, my heart racing as I answered the call.

"Dario," Sophia's shaky voice replied. "I need to talk to you."

I felt a pang of guilt and anxiety. What did Sophia want to talk about? Was she going to break up with me for good?

"Okay, Sophia. I'm listening," I said, trying to sound calm.

"I've been thinking a lot about us, Dario," Sophia said, her voice filled with emotion. "I don't know if I can do this anymore. I don't know if I can keep pretending that everything is okay when it's not."

I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. I knew I had hurt Sophia, but I didn't realize how much.

"Sophia, I'm so sorry," I said, my voice filled with regret. "I know I messed up, and I don't blame you for feeling the way you do. But please, don't give up on us. I promise to do whatever it takes to make things right between us."
