CHAPTER 71

  Aubrey's POV

  After dinner, I sat in the living room, chatting with my cousin, Henry about his trip with his mother, as we sipped our tea.

  Our discussion didn't quite settle well with Aunt Rachel. She sat across from us. She seemed relaxed and calm, a sly smile spreading across her face.

  "Aubrey, I need to tell you something," Aunt Rachel said interrupting us, her voice dripping with intention. "Something about your grandfather and why he's been pushing you to work with the Fowlers' Enterprise."

  I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What is it?"

  Aunt Rachel leaned in, a conspiratorial glint in her eye. "Let's just say that your grandfather's motives aren't entirely pure. He's been hiding something, Aubrey. Something big."

  I felt a shiver run down my spine as Aunt Rachel's words hung in the air. What could she possibly mean?
