CHAPTER 82

  Dario's POV

I sat in my room, staring at the wall as I tried to process everything that had happened. I was trapped in a marriage with Sophia, and her grandparents were trying to control me. They wanted me to hand over my shares of Carvers' Corp to Sophia, but I had no intention of doing that.

I thought about my grandfather's warning, about how Sophia and her family were only after my money and power. I should have listened to him, but I had been too blinded by my own desires.

I heard a knock at the door, and Sophia walked in, a smile on her face. "Hey, husband," she said, walking over to me. "What's wrong? You've been acting strange all day."

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I'm just stressed, that's all," I said.

Sophia nodded, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, I can help you relax," she said, her voice dripping with suggestion.

I felt a surge of disgust, but I tried to hide it. "I'm not really in the mood, Sophia," I said.
