5. Let Me Show You How to Cast a Spell

Jin looked ahead, seeing his father and mother standing together like the couple that they were and in front of them, a strange group of eight men.

He put his hand over his eyes, to block off the interference from the midday sun as he squinted, to gain a better view of the scene in front of him.

Observing it for a few seconds, he couldn't believe it.

"It's really the Lord and Lady of Clan Weiss. The system didn't lie."

[Dear husband, you believe I would lie to you?]

The system faked the sound of sobbing, pricking Jin internally.

"Yikes! Sorry… hehe! You know I'm still not used to this."

[Pfft! It's fine!]

'This system is rather too dramatic.'

He sighed, relieved that the matter was not prolonged more than necessary.

Seeing how Buma was harassing his parents in this world, Jin felt the inclination to help them out.

"Hey, you! Stop it!" he yelled at the top of his voice, revealing himself to them.

"Huh? Jin?"

"H-how…? How is he still alive!"

Voices of confusion filled the atmosphere, making Jin laugh as he declared with his arms proudly spread out, "As you can see, I am not dead!"

Buma was the first to look up and without any hesitation, he recognised Jin in an instant and clenched his teeth, biting on them bitterly.

'I knew these bastards were up to something,' he lamented inwardly while folding his hands into a tight fist.

Jin raised his head high and pushed his chest out.

With his hands held to his waist and like a proud warrior who had won all his battles, he declared, "Stop it this minute or I will kick your asses!"

The sound of Buma's teeth grinding resonated in the air as he stared wickedly at the resurrected Jin Weiss.

"Hey, boss. Thought you told us he was dead," one of his men asked with a quivering voice.

A few others were already shuffling back and mouthing the word "ghost" amongst themselves.

They couldn't believe their eyes.

After all, the news of Jin Weiss' death had travelled far and wide the Eternal Realm.

"I will kill you!" Buma responded with hostility to the Dark Wizard's words, pointing a finger at him.

Jin rubbed his neck as he thought of something. 'Hmm. It is as real as ever. Even better than when I was playing it as a game. Well, it's kind of cool to be reincarnated with such a cheat but… it would have been cooler if I was another major character.'

[Eww! Cliche!]

'Yikes…!'

He cleared his throat, mumbling to himself. "Ahem… that shouldn't be a problem. With my golden finger, I should be stronger than this bunch of worthless NPCs… plus, I know practically all the skills and techniques in this world and with infinite mana, I should be able to master them with some ease."

[That's the spirit, darling! You can do it!]

Jin exhaled.

"A supportive wife, indeed."

The system echoed with cute sounds, almost like a teenage girl whose crush had complimented her.

[Ehhhh!??? He called me his wife! That's… that's—]

"You know I can hear you too, right?"

[Oh, yes! Sorry!]

"It's fine."

Meanwhile, Buma had his eyes on Jin all the while, his face expressing surprise as he watched Jin mutter words to himself.

'Who the hell is he talking to?' Buma wondered. 'He must have surely gone mad from all that practice of the dark arts. No way a crazy man will be able to best me!'

Buma Elariz continued scheming in his head. 'If I kill now and for good, I am guaranteed to gain life-changing favours from the Clan Head and be in his good book.'

Tap~ Tap~

In the blink of an eye, Jin appeared on the area of premises where they all were, standing between his parents and the hoodlums led by Buma Elariz.

Jin's hand flickered, but before he could do anything, he felt a tight grip around his trunk from behind that tried to squeeze him in.

"Jin! My dear child!" a middle-aged woman sobbed behind him.

"You are alive. Thank heaven!"

It was his mother, Lady Margaret Weiss.

"Umm… too tight! Too tight!"

Margaret's eyes glinted as soon as she realised that she was squeezing him out of breath before letting go.

Jin turned to her and laughed wryly while scratching his head.

"Hehe! I'm fine, mother."

Lady Margaret rubbed his arms and examined his body with her eyes, worry beaming from her face.

"Are you sure? Are you okay? Did you break anything?"

Jin then held her steady and smiled, before pulling her into his bosom for a warm hug.

Lady Margaret's eyes widened and tears began to drop from the corners of her eyes as she closed them, taking in the moment she was sharing with her son.

A tear dropped from Lord Arthur's eyes as well from watching the two of them have their mother and son moment.

"I'm fine, mother. You don't have to worry about me again."

As everyone watched this wholesome scene between mother and son, Buma thought of it as an opening to make his move.

Suddenly, the surrounding air pressure increased with the mana that Buma was releasing as he put his fingers together and pointed them forward.

"Waters vast,

Strong and deep,

Ocean's currents,

Secrets keep,

By the flow and tides' embrace,

Grant me strength and guide my chase."

Slam~

As soon as he was done with his incantation, Buma slapped his belly with both hands, causing his mouth to fill up and puff out.

…Water Magic: Ocean's Swallow!

"That spell? Boss can use that?"

"Buma, our boss is really strong!"

"Even if he's using incantation to summon such a high-level spell, not many people can do that still."

"Yes, boss! Kill the Dark Wizard!"

Buma's belly enlarged uniformly and his cheeks puffed as he prepared to release his magic technique at Jin like a rocket coming in from the latter's blindspot.

But before he could do that, he gave up as the water he had gathered in his belly spilled on the ground, barely reaching even a two-metre distance from where he stood.

Buma's eyes rolled up and reddened as he turned green with nausea, struggling to keep himself sane and sound.

Such a high-level spell was too much for Buma.

He was yet to master it but for some reason, Buma tried to cast the [Ocean's Swallow] spell.

Perhaps he was fired up by the thought of facing the Dark Wizard but in the end, he failed miserably.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Jin burst out laughing and slapping his stomach.

"Hahahaha! You can't even cast a simple spell!"

The Dark Wizard of the Weiss Family laughed so much that Buma wished for the ground to split apart and swallow in, along with his shame.

Buma's men hurried to his side and helped him keep his balance while waiting out the effect of his failed magic casting.

His clothes were drenched and he was still drained of mana.

"Hehehe! My gosh!" Jin continued to mock him, enjoying himself to no end.

Buma's men snarled at him while they helped their boss.

'That Jin…! He will pay for this.'

'What a cocky bastard!'

They cursed him in their minds over and over again.

"Please step back, Mother," Jin said to Lady Margaret as he moved some steps forward, facing the lackeys of the Elariz Clan.

"How about I show you weaklings how to cast a magic spell."

Jin had watched the spell which Buma tried to use.

He knew it from playing the game and understood how it worked.

It was a high-grade spell of water magic, but not something that he couldn't use at his current level.

Jin then lifted his hand, pointing a finger to the sky as he muttered two words that rang an instant bell to all onlookers present.

"Ocean's Swallow…"
