The moment Oliver opened his eyes, he saw nothing but darkness all around him. It felt like he was inside an empty void of space where nothing existed except the darkness.
For a moment, he thought he died and went to some strange afterlife, but then he realized that it couldn't be true because he could still breathe just fine. It was then that he noticed something else: he wasn't alone.
Despite the darkness, he could feel a body lying on top of him, and he realized it was someone familiar.
"Mom?" Oliver called out, but no response came. He was worried now, so he tried shaking her awake, and his concern grew when he heard her groan in pain.
"What's going on?! Why is everything so dark?"
"Are you okay, Mom? Do you feel hurt anywhere?" Oliver asked in a panicked tone.
After taking a couple of deep breaths, Mia managed to calm herself down and answered her son.
"No, I am not hurt anywhere at all... I just feel a bit disoriented right now... Wait, why is there only darkness around us? Where are we, Oliver?"
"I have no idea," Oliver answered honestly. "One moment we were on the beach enjoying each other's company, and the next thing I know, I'm in this dark place."
Mia furrowed her brows and pondered about what happened before she lost her consciousness, and realization struck her like lightning from the sky. "Oh! I remember now! There was a sudden gush of wind out of nowhere that picked us up and swept us away into this place, wherever it is... Wait, but that doesn't make any sense!"
Oliver also went over it in his mind and nodded. Everything his mother said sounded correct to him. It wasn't normal for strong winds to blow like that all of a sudden, not to mention picking them up off their feet. Even stranger was the fact that they were here in total darkness, unable to see anything.
It felt as if they got sucked inside the mouth of a black hole or something, and all of a sudden, he recalled a term he once read on the internet about such phenomena: 'space-time warp.'
In anime and video games, these kinds of events often take place, wherein the people involved get transported to a different place, time, or even world, although it was normally done with science-fiction plots and magical concepts.
Of course, Oliver wasn't entirely sure whether what he was thinking now could be applied to the current situation he was in, but the possibility was there.
For one thing, there was no denying that whatever caused them to end up in this predicament couldn't have been ordinary, so maybe it wasn't completely outside the realm of possibility.
"You are right. Nothing makes any sense. We have no idea what kind of situation we are in right now either," Oliver mumbled as he tried to come up with an answer to their situation, but unfortunately, nothing came to mind.
There were too many unknown variables for him to even guess what might have caused all of this.
Just then, a bright light appeared right beside the two, drawing their attention towards it, and they noticed something strange.
The light formed the shape of a person that was about six feet tall and looked very feminine at first glance. It wasn't human, though. It looked like it was made entirely out of crystals that radiated with a glow, illuminating the space around them.
Its appearance was beautiful enough to captivate anyone who laid eyes on it. Oliver and Mia both felt like they were mesmerized by this beautiful crystal statue in front of them.
However, that lasted for only a moment before the thing in front of them disappeared and transformed into tiny specks of light. The tiny specks flew towards them and entered their bodies through their skin before disappearing completely from sight.
They could feel those tiny specks travel across every single one of their nerves, leaving an eerie sensation inside their bodies.
"What... what the hell is happening!?" Oliver yelled, unable to hide his panic anymore as he feared that something terrible was going to happen to him soon.
Mia was in a similar state. She held onto Oliver tightly with her arms wrapped around his waist and her face buried in his chest as if to avoid getting separated from him in this weird place.
The specks of light continued to flow through their bodies until every part of their being had been touched by it. Afterward, they were engulfed in a warm sensation, as if they were surrounded by hot water, making their skins tingle in pleasure. It was like they had just entered a bathtub filled with hot water but without getting wet at all.
"I feel... great..." Mia gasped, unable to find the proper words to describe how good she felt at the moment. She couldn't even begin to compare it to anything she experienced before either because it was such a unique feeling.
Her whole body trembled as if it had become extremely sensitive to even the slightest of touches. She couldn't stop herself from moaning in ecstasy as she continued enjoying herself in this unknown state of pleasure that she had never experienced before.
"Yeah, I feel good too," Oliver nodded, feeling every inch of his skin tingling with euphoria. He even found himself having trouble keeping his hands off his mother now as the need to pleasure himself intensified with each passing second.
Suddenly, both of them felt a sharp pain shooting through their heads. They winced but gritted their teeth to endure it while also doing their best to ignore the feeling of something breaking inside their bodies.
"My head! What is happening to me!?" Oliver growled with frustration as he clutched his forehead, struggling to keep himself together.
Mia was no different than him. She had to bear with her head splitting apart. "Ahhhh! This... hurts! Why is it... so painful!?"
Neither one knew exactly what was happening to their brains, but whatever it was, it seemed to be causing them an immense amount of agony.
Fortunately for them, however, this kind of pain didn't last longer than a couple of seconds. Once it passed, Oliver and Mia felt much better than before, except now they had gained new knowledge.
They now knew that they were in another world where everything worked differently, and they had gained an understanding of its language.
Mia took some time to process everything, but once it sunk in, she couldn't help but mutter in astonishment. "Is... is this for real? Are we actually transported to another world? This sounds so much like the anime that you used to watch... right, Oliver?"
