Do you feel different now, Oliver?

Oliver heard her speak, but he couldn't focus his thoughts on what she was saying due to the information bombarding his head.

It took him almost two minutes to recover his composure, and when he did, he responded in a somewhat uncertain tone, "This is not some anime stuff or fantasy story. This is all too real, Mom, and I am not sure whether it's a good or bad thing that we ended up here..."

"Right... right..." Mia muttered with a hint of worry in her voice as she glanced around them in confusion. They weren't in darkness anymore as small motes of light hovered around the place, illuminating it somewhat. "The real world is never like an anime or movie where everything is just too easy to deal with. We never know what dangers could await us here... Not to mention, we don't even know how to get back to our world either... What kind of mess are we in now?"

They both grew silent after that statement, thinking about their situation carefully. They knew they weren't going back anytime soon unless they managed to figure out what exactly was going on and how they ended up in this world in the first place.

Even then, the chances of finding an easy solution to solve their predicament seemed pretty slim from what they already learned. After all, something like traveling between worlds isn't supposed to happen in the first place.

Then there was also another factor that they had to consider too: magic. According to their new knowledge, there was indeed magic in this world, and it existed everywhere around them.

Magic that was used by people living in this world to fight monsters and enemies while also allowing them to perform amazing feats, which was the stuff of fiction for them.

"Speaking of which..." Mia looked at her son and asked, "Do you feel different now, Oliver?"

Oliver turned towards her and blinked before answering, "A little bit. It's as if my body feels lighter somehow, and I feel like I'm more flexible than usual. Then there's this strange feeling of... power coursing through my veins, you could say. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like I can become invisible anytime I want or disappear from one spot and appear in another spot instantaneously."

He then started to concentrate his energy into his palms, and as if by instinct, he could feel it flowing freely within himself, ready to be used as he pleased. The next moment, his hands became translucent before disappearing from sight altogether.

Mia's eyes went wide at the scene she witnessed, and she couldn't help but stare dumbfoundedly at where her son's hands used to be. "What...? Did... did you just..."

The mother had barely managed to speak her question before her son's hands returned to normal, but as soon as she saw that it was back to its normal state, she let out a sigh of relief before glaring daggers at her son. "Don't scare me like that, Oliver! How am I supposed to react after seeing my child's hand disappear out of thin air?"

"Sorry," he replied with an apologetic grin as his gaze landed on his mother, who was still clinging to his waist as if her life depended on it. Her voluptuous figure was pressed up against him, causing his blood to rush south once more. "Anyway, enough about me. How about you, Mom? Do you feel anything different? Any abilities?"

The beautiful mother remained quiet for a while, looking like she was contemplating something important before she answered. "Yes... yes, I do. It's weird. Like you said, it's hard to explain, but... It's almost like I can feel any life forms... And not just that, but I think I may have gained some healing magic as well..."

Then, Mia looked at her son and noticed a particular bite mark on his chest, which was most likely from one of their sexcapades a while back. With her focus on the wound, her hand glowed, and in an instant, the bruise vanished without a trace.

"Woah..." Oliver exclaimed in astonishment and raised his brow in wonder. "Looks like you really gained healing powers, huh?"

Mia shrugged her shoulders in response as she didn't know how this came to be. There was also the matter of sensing life forms too, which was an odd ability to have in her opinion.

She wondered whether there was more to it than just simple detection, but she couldn't tell for sure unless she tested it out. Then suddenly, she felt a very small pulse coming from nearby. When she concentrated on it, she sensed multiple beings in the same spot.

"Oliver... There are some people coming our way." Mia said with a troubled expression.

Oliver tensed up. He wasn't sure if the people Mia felt approaching were friendly or hostile in nature, nor did he have any means of protecting themselves from anything that might attack them.

"We should prepare ourselves just in case," he replied, which made Mia nod in agreement.

With the thought of potential danger, Oliver and Mia stood up from their spot and began looking for something they could use as a weapon in case the worst happens.

There wasn't much around them other than the dark ground they were lying on before. Still, it didn't take long before Oliver spotted something not far from them that caught his attention.

"Is that a knife...?" Oliver asked out loud as he approached the object and picked it up. Upon examining it closely, he realized that it was, in fact, a dagger of some sort. The blade looked rather dull and didn't appear to be made out of good materials but would serve the purpose just fine if needed.

Mia gave her son a worried look. She was worried about the upcoming situation that might cause them problems.

In her entire life as a mother, Mia had always protected her son from harm. Now, looking at him holding a dagger in his hand, Mia wanted to tell Oliver to not do anything dangerous.

But she understood this was a different world; they weren't at home anymore, where the biggest dangers came from traffic accidents or thugs. It was very clear that things were more dangerous here than back home.

Oliver sensed Mia's worry and gave her a reassuring smile. "It will be all right, Mom. I promise I will protect you from any dangers that may come our way," he declared confidently as he held the dagger tightly in his grip.

With such strong resolve, Mia's expression relaxed somewhat as she nodded back at him. "I know you will, my sweet boy. Still, I'm not going to just stand here idly either while my son takes the brunt of everything. I'll do what I can to keep us safe too."

Oliver nodded his head with a grin, not questioning Mia's declaration before he disappeared from sight as he used the ability he had just gained before.
