Minato nodded in agreement with Yusuke's idea. "Yes, I agree. I'll accept all villages' requests and expand the Chūnin Exams."
"But this will put a lot of pressure on the Military Police Force, and some villages might target the Research Institute. That's why I wanted to talk to you."
Yusuke waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry. Let as many villages participate as possible! This Chūnin Exam will be unprecedented!"
Yusuke's goal wasn't just selecting chūnin, or fostering friendly ninja and political exchanges. He wanted Konoha to establish absolute authority among all villages!
"You said you had two things to discuss. What's the other?"
After discussing the Chūnin Exams, Yusuke asked Minato.
Minato sighed, "It's about a girl with exceptional genjutsu talent."
After Yusuke and Minato decided to expand the Chūnin Exams, they convened a meeting the next day to plan the details. Almost everyone agreed.
The meeting concluded, Yusuke and Minato kept the jonin leading genin teams to assess their students' readiness for the joint Chūnin Exams.
Because other villages would participate, the selected genin teams would be elite. The joint exams would be more difficult and dangerous than internal exams.
After careful consideration, seven genin teams were selected: Team Kakashi, Team Guy, Team Asuma, Team Kurenai, and three others.
Sakura, not being in Team Kakashi, was in another team and participated in the exams.
Team Kakashi became the only all-male team.
When Kakashi told Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota about the exams, they were excited.
They were top-tier genin and eager to participate. They were determined to become chūnin.
That afternoon, Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota trained in the Konoha training grounds. Their talent, diligence, and guidance from Minato, Itachi, and Kabuto had made them stronger than in the original story.
They trained until sunset.
"Naruto, the Fourth Hokage said he'd teach you the Flying Thunder God Technique. How's it going?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto looked embarrassed, scratching his head, "I'll master it soon!"
The technique was too difficult for him. Otherwise, he would have already shown off to Sasuke and Yota.
Sasuke guessed as much, "It's not easy for a dunce like you. But I'll win first place in the Chūnin Exams! The clan head might take me as a disciple!"
"Naruto, don't hold me back!"
Naruto and Sasuke began arguing; Yota sighed.
"Why do I feel like a third wheel?"
Shaking his head, Yota dismissed the thought.
They saw a girl sketching near the Hokage Monument.
She looked older than them, with brown hair and a melancholic air.
"Hey, what's she drawing? I'll go check it out."
Naruto, ever outgoing, ignored Sasuke and Yota's objections and approached the girl.
Sasuke and Yota followed. She was painting an oil painting of Konoha.
Her skill was remarkable; the painting was almost identical to the real Konoha.
As they admired it, she painted clouds and lightning. Clouds appeared above Konoha, with flashes of lightning.
She stabbed her brush into the canvas; a white lightning bolt struck the Hokage Monument, starting a fire.
Those nearby thought it was a natural disaster.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota were stunned and wanted to question the girl.
Several men in white protective suits rushed out to forcibly take her away.
She struggled, but one man injected her neck with a needle; she lost consciousness.
As Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota tried to intervene, an Anbu blocked them.
"Leave. And don't tell anyone what you saw!"
The Anbu left. But this piqued their curiosity.
"There's a huge conspiracy!" Naruto said.
"A big secret!" Sasuke agreed.
Yota hesitated, "Should we tell Kakashi-sensei?"
"No!" Naruto and Sasuke refused simultaneously.
If they told the adults, the adults would handle it, and they wouldn't know anything.
Besides, revealing the conspiracy would make them look cool.
"Those in white suits are from Konoha Hospital. There's a nearby sanatorium for special patients. Let's check it out!" Sasuke analyzed.
Naruto and Yota agreed and secretly infiltrated the sanatorium.
