Chapter 6

Just as Lorne was waiting for Dashiell to return with the flowers she had bought, the doorbell rang.

The courier handed her a document.

When she opened it, it was a divorce agreement signed with Dashiell's name.

She tore it up.

The next day, the third day, the fourth day... it kept coming as usual.

She suddenly realized that the last item on the will was to divorce Lorne.

Dashiell really... didn't want her anymore.

I've always been hoping for a miracle to happen.

The doctor could tell me, "It was a misdiagnosis, you're fine."

But I'm in so much pain that I can't sleep through the night.

When the tinnitus starts, and I'm fainting and dry heaving.

I know I'm one step closer to death.

The moment Lorne saw the divorce papers, she probably signed them right away, or maybe she tore them up in anger, saying, "What right do you have to be better off?"

I've already lost my child, lost my legs, and I'm about to die from illness.

Those sins, I don't want to repay anymore.
