No Idea

There was a loud knock on the door, consistent for a while without any response from the one inside the room.

The one at the other end groaned out heavily as her knuckles began to ache, and frustration had a firm grip on her which was evident in the sweat drops that rolled down her forehead.

She wiped off the sweat drops from her face, heaved off a heavy sigh as she continued knocking, hoping that whoever was inside would answer to the knocks which were gradually turning into stomps.

But within the room, was Elissa who laid on the bed with a duvet spread over her, deep in her slumber and a low growl.

Her ears had picked up the sound of the knock deep from her subconscious, and her eyes were open abruptly, jerking off the bed as though she was startled by something from her sleep.

She looked around the room with her eyes blurry, battling with the bright lights which pierced through the curtains into her eyes.

She yawned, stretched her hands widely as she tried to regain all of her strength while she was looking towards the door as the knock persisted for a while.

But she hesitated to move as soon as she realized that while she laid on the bed, she could feel the cold wind fall on her skin. Then, it dawned on her at the very moment the thick clothing dropped from over her body, revealing her bosoms, that she laid naked through the night.

She looked with widened eyes, confused as to what had caused her to lay in such a state. When she thought that her torso was the only part of her body being exposed, she looked underneath the duvet with a troubled and throbbing heart, doubting the suspicion that arose in her heart.

"Holy hell!" She whispered with her hands placed over her lips, staring at her body for a second before she covered herself again with fear and looked towards the window.

"What the hell happened?" She questioned herself. Her heart suddenly became heavy, and she had her hands wrapped around her shoulders with so much panic as the tears flowed down her eyes.

There were no answers to the questions arising in her heart, or a thought that popped in her mind that could cause a slight reminisce of the things that went on the previous day.

Still in her train of thoughts, the knock on the door persisted, and it seemed to be a disturbing factor that hindered a free flow of ideas and her memories.

"Who is it?" She yelled out as she struggled and fought back the tears which tried to roll down her eyes.

"Housekeeping!" The lady at the other end of the door uttered out with a loud tone.

Elissa wiped off the tears from her eyes, and stood from the bed, throwing over her body the peach dress which she sighted on the couch which was at the far end of the room.

She walked towards the door, twisted the door knob as she opened the door and sighted the lady who stood with a plastic smile on her face.

"Hello, ma'am. Good afternoon…" The lady said.

"Afternoon…" Elissa's eyebrows were raised as she questioned the time of the day. She looked backwards towards the window where it dawned on her that the sun was at its peak in the sky, and she could overhear the sounds of a busy street which countered what she thought of initially.

"It's past your check-out time" the lady said.

"How long have I been here?" She asked the lady. In her perspective, it seemed like the early morning, and she was just awake without the knowledge of who it was that must have spent the night with her.

"That's going to be a full day. You've been here for a full day." She said again.

"A full day." Elissa whispered to herself. Her eyes were faced downwards, trying to scratch out the memories of what had occurred. It was as though everything that occurred was strange to her, and she was dumbfounded, too stunned to utter a word.

"Yes ma'am" the lady answered her.

"Did you see anyone walk out of this place?" Elissa asked. She leaned closer to the lady, and whispered the question to her, still having the thoughts that there was someone who was present in the room but had left before she had her eyes open.

It was a staring conviction, something that she could not deny for a reason. But the remembrance of his face and what had happened between them was what she struggled with as she stood there.

"I can't tell you that, ma'am. If you're in need of that answer, then you would have to ask at the front desk. For now, ma'am, you have to pack up and leave, except you seek to stay for another day" the lady responded.

"It's fine. I'll just pack up" Elissa answered after a few minutes of being frozen in her thoughts, uttering the words with a smile seated on her face before she closed the door and leaned against it.

She sat on the ground, with her knees raised towards her chest and her hands wrapped around it as she battled her thoughts.

She picked herself up from the ground, and began packing up all of her things. She thought of just too many things, and just in the middle of her thoughts, she remembered Martha.

"Martha?" Elissa paused in her preparations as she thought of her friend.

Why was she not here? Why had she not called? These questions popped up in her mind as she gradually began to regain the memories which she struggled to carve out.

Her mind replayed the moments when her eyes had fallen on a certain man, one who had caught her fancy and had prompted her to take the first step towards him. She could only decipher that what had transpired between them both throughout the night had brought her to this moment where she awoke naked.
