''Who are you?'' The dragon that had first landed in front of Ayra had to ask her. Who was she, and why was the Dragon King avoiding her?
When the Dragon King and the first dragon that landed in front of Ayra who was none other than the King's Guard, heard that a stranger had entered their territory, they hurried to find out who the person was, as they could not afford to spare anyone a chance to enter there and cause chaos.
But on this occasion, instead of the Dragon King meeting the intruder, he started to run away.
''My...my name is Ayra.'' Ayra felt a bit too relaxed for someone who was being apprehended by a bunch of strangelooking humans who turned into dragons. But that was just how she felt. Relaxed. And there was nothing she could do about it other than maybe try to find out why.
''Ayra!'' The first dragon repeated her name.
''Send her to the dungeon.'' He turned around and suddenly shifted back to his dragon, flying in the same direction that the Dragon King had come and gone from.
''Dungeon?'' Ayra started to tear up.
What did she do that would warrant her being put in the dungeon?
''Okay. Wait. I'll just leave the way I came. I don't want water anymore. Just let me go.'' She started to beg but the person that would have listened to her and shown any empathy had flown away, and the people with Ayra were merely robots for him.
Before Ayra knew what was happening, she had been thrown into a cell in the dungeon amidst her arguing that she did not deserve such a treatment.
King Devon Lonax, the Dragon King who was approaching Ayra beforehand, was pacing in his study as he struggled with a new development within himself.
While the Dragon King did that, his girlfriend, Scarlet, looked at him with wide eyes as she wondered what on Earth must have made the Dragon King so restless.
Scarlet was just about to interrogate King Devon when the King's guard, whose name was Maximus, entered the study.
"Scarlet, I will see you later." King Devon immediately said, prompting his girlfriend to excuse him, to speak with Maximus privately.
Ordinarily, Scarlet would have refused to leave, but the look in King Devon's eyes, and judging by how restless he was, Scarlet knew better than to make trouble.
As soon as Scarlet left, King Devon got straight to business.
"Who is this intruder? How did she find her way here?" King Devon looked very disturbed as he asked Maximus for answers.
Maximus shrugged.
"I'm as clueless as you are. She was asking for water. I think she was on her way beyond the territory and only stopped by for some water and food. I guess." Maximus could not think of a better explanation.
King Devon stared at Maximus for a while, then he started to unbutton his shirt.
Maximus looked on with expectation as he wondered what the King was up to.
As soon as King Devon was done unbuttoning his shirt, Maximus could not believe what his eyes saw.
The dragon tattoo that King Devon had been born with was glowing.
"My King…" Maximus yelped, understanding what the glowing tattoo meant.
King Devon had finally found his mate, chosen by the controllers of the Dragon Siege.
Just as the moon goddess was to werewolves, the controllers of the Dragon Siege portray a similar capacity to the Dragons.
"Whoever that intruder is, is my mate." King Devon sank into his seat as he spoke.
Maximus was shocked beyond words.
Meanwhile, someone had been eavesdropping on the conversation between Maximus and King Devon the entire time.
It was Scarlet, King Devon's girlfriend.
Scarlet had been waiting for the day that King Devon would get married to her and make her the Dragon Queen, only for her to hear that a mate had suddenly appeared out of nowhere for the King.
Jealousy and rage filled her mind as she stomped back to her chambers.
Scarlet had never been so upset, and she nursed the urgency to get rid of whoever that mate was.
"Yurus!" Scarlet yelled the name of her steward and from her tone, Yurus could tell that he needed to appear before Scarlet as urgently as he had heard his name from her.
Before long, Yurus' familiar footsteps were heard outside the room.
"My Queen…" Yurus entered the room with his head bowed as he acknowledged his mistress.
Scarlet was quietly looking at Yurus.
Yurus had been her steward even before she became King Devon's girlfriend. He was very loyal to her.
Scarlet was observing her steward, wondering if it was safe to confide in him.
If there was one person who knew about the Tale Of Doom, it was Scarlet. As soon as King Devon told his guard that the dragon tattoo on him was glowing, Scarlet knew exactly what was going on.
The Tale Of Doom had started to unfold.
"There is a new prisoner in the dungeon. A rogue wolf wandered into the kingdom today." Scarlet started from there.
Yurus nodded.
"But, my Queen, that has nothing to do with you. Some filthy girl in the dungeon should not concern the Dragon Queen. Should it?" Yurus was always known to massage Scarlet's ego. In the entire kingdom, he was the only person who referred to her as the Dragon Queen. Nobody else did, not even her boyfriend, King Devon.
"That's it, Yurus. That's the problem. That filthy rogue has come to strip me away from my position as Dragon Queen." Scarlet's shrill voice sounded and reverberated in Yurus' ears.
Yurus' eyes shone in horror, and it was quickly replaced with hate and anger.
"Who is she? Who dares to dethrone My Queen?" Yurus soon sounded as deadly as his Queen, Scarlet.
"That's why I called you Yurus. We have work to do. That filthy girl has to be stopped immediately. Think Yurus! Think about what we would do to stop her."
