Don't Envy The Atmosphere Here

You saw Scott's dead face as his eyes locked on Envy, and Ramona's concern for him. And you also heard the endless amount of comments and compliments the audience had to offer about the band.

"Oh, man, yeah! You have to seem them live. They're so much better live. They're like... oh, man!"

"They played my request and... and Envy Adams is so... she's so... she sings like an angel?"

"Oh my god! Just... oh my god!"

"I agree!"

"Dude, you saw it, right? I know you saw it. Up Envy's skirt, man." That one made you shiver a little,

"A little louder?"

"The Clash at Demonhead."

"And Envy?"

"I think she's a nasty little ho-bag."

"Get that thing out of my face!"

"We're shooting a documentary for-"

"You heard me!"

Overall, everyone knew the band's name, and how much they were loved by everyone. Well, almost everyone. But the ones who were fans of the band's music did go crazy at every chord, note, and lyric.

Afterward, you and the Sex Bob-Omb stayed after the show. "Decent show, eh? Told you they were good." Stephen remarked, arms crossed as he leaned against a wall.

"I think I'm gonna throw up..." Scott whined, covering his mouth. He was actually about to.

"That bad, huh?" You asked. "Dude, they really weren't that bad. Maybe not your cup of tea, but they weren't awful."

"You're too positive for your own good, Wyenn." Kim criticized. "That's why we like you. Keep it up."

After Scott managed to swallow back his puke, he looked over to something to his left. "What is that?"

"What?" Ramona asked, looking over to see what Scott was referring to, as did the others and you.

"What are you talking about?" Stephen questioned.

"That, uh, thing?" Scott said, pointing to an odd, glowing red spot on the ground.

"I think it's a save point." Stephen guessed.

"It's a save point." Kim confirmed.

"What? Are you serious?" Scott exclaimed as he ran over to the supposed save point. "I gotta save before she-"

"What the hell?! You're not supposed to be here! We're closed!" The girl who you guessed was the waitress exclaimed as she walked in.

"Uh... We're... We're with-" Scott stuttered, trying to explain.

"Hey. Don't worry about it." Envy cut him off, entering the scene. "C'mon back here, guys. Let's chat."

- Envy Addams, 24 years old, rating: 100% -

Scott was sweating bullets, and he was shaking, scared, and nervous. Envy and her band had invited you and your friends to the back room, and you had no idea how to deal with the situation, other than staying quiet and following along.

- Backstage -

Quiet. That's what the room was filled with. Aside from the people in the room, sure, but the silence was so absolute you might as well assume no one was there.

All you could do was watch where everyone was seated. Neil stood next to the backstage room's door. On the couch closest to the door, from left to right, sat Knives, Kim, you, Ramona, and Scott.

On the opposite side, Clash at Demonhead's drummer, if you remember correctly, her name was Lynette Guycott, stood next to the couch. From right to left, Stephen, Julie, Todd, and Envy sat.

"Hi, Scott." Envy broke the silence, smiling.

"Hi." Scott returned, but was clearly not comfortable with the situation.

"Hi, Ramona." Todd greeted, smirking.

"Hey Todd." Ramona said, and looked away.

Silence once again. This was getting awkward. Oh wait, it already was.

"Um... Envy? I... I... I read your blog." Knives spoke, nervously. All eyes fell on her the second she spoke, and that didn't help with the awkwardness of everything going on around her.

Luckily, and surprisingly, Julie broke the tension. "So... how was the tour? You played with New Order? You played with The Pixies? You're a superstar now!"

"It's- Yeah, it isn't something I can really put into words at this point. It's been unusual." Envy admitted.

"Envy, you're sooooo fashionable! You're my role model, Envy!" Knives complimented, fangirling.

"Knives, turn down the knob a little." You gently advised, knowing how easily excited Knives gets.

"Can I blow your mind?" Julie ignored as she talked to Envy.

"You can try." Envy answered.

At that point, all you could hear from Julie was "Blah blah blah? Blah blah blah, blah blah blah! And now she's pregnant!" Wait, what? Pregnant? Who's pregnant? What is she talking about? What the hell did you miss?!

"Oh, I know! I heard. Babies, eh?" Envy gossiped, smiling.

"Isn't that crazy?" Julie asked.

"God, Julie, it's not that crazy. People have babies." Stephen chimed in, not liking the conversation topic.

"I'm talking to Envy right now, Stephen." Julie snapped, not appreciating Stephen interrupting her talk with her idol. "Uh... so... are you guys doing anything fun while you're in the city?"

"Fun in Toronto?" Todd scoffed, leaning back on the couch.

"Maybe some shopping tomorrow." Envy answered, significantly more delighted than Todd.

Then, you got the overwhelming feeling that something was about to go sour real fast. In response, you began to turn on the video powers within your body. Just in case.

On cue, Knives exclaimed, "I almost kissed the lips that kissed you" Out of the blue, pointing at Envy.

Envy responded by shooting a nod at Lynette, who raised her bandaged arm as a whirring sound was heard. Instinctively, you jumped in front of Knives, creating a sword made of video. And just in time, as Lynette's arm extended to try and punch Knives' face.

Your sword and her fist clashed, the impact creating a shockwave. Neither you nor Lynette flinched. Her arm then retreated, as you kept your grip steady on your sword, ready for whatever attack may come next.

"Bionic arm, huh? Nice." You complimented, your tone not matching your words.

"Nice sword." Lynette remarked, equally as cold.

"Woah, okay! Let's calm down, guys..." Stephen said, raising his arms as he tried to defuse the situation.

"Hey, Envy." You called out. "What was that for? Careful with your words."

"None of your business." Envy responded, crossing her arms. "She needs to learn a lesson. And you're not stopping us. Lynette."

Lynette nodded, and her bionic arm stretched once again, and aimed for Knives' face. An attack that was countered by your video torrent, which shot a burst of pixel projectiles.

"So this is how you wanna play." Envy said as she stood up, shooting you a glare of "You're dead."

"If you want a fight, I'll give you one." You said, glaring back.

"Lynette, get them." Envy ordered.

- Y/N Rowe! VS! Lynette Guycott! Fight! -

You summoned your bloodthirsty blades, which immediately locked on Lynette, and propelled themselves towards her. She blocked most of them with her bionic arm, but the rest still hit her, exploding upon impact.

She was pushed back because of the blast, and recovered quickly. She charged forward and punched you. You managed to dodge, materializing your sword and swinging at her.

Problem with your materializations was, they were glass cannons. They hit hard, but against a strong enough force, they broke with some effort. And Lynette was, without a doubt, a strong enough force.

You swung your sword, and her fist made contact. Her arm shattered the blade, and the momentum was enough to make you stumble back. However, as you stumbled back, you managed to backflip and land on your feet.

Without wasting any time, you used video surge to grow wings and charge grab Lynette's waist, taking her with you as you both crashed through the wall of the backstage room and onto the main area.

"Oh, this is getting good." Kim commented, smirking.

"I kinda wanna see where this goes." Ramona agreed.

"Don't mess up the place, Wyenn!" Stephen exclaimed, concerned. "We've got a show to play on Sunday!"

"Relax, I won't!" You assured, ducking as Lynette grabbed onto a railing and pulled herself to try and punch you.

You charged towards her, and swung your sword, managing to scratch her cheek. She didn't even flinch. You then flew upwards, and fired a video torrent. Some shots hit, and others were blocked by her arm.

You flew forward, and swung your sword, making her raise her arm to block. Your swing was slow, and she knew that, so when she blocked, you stopped your swing midway, and roundhouse kicked her in the face, sending her back.

"Tell her to stand down, Envy. I don't want to drag this on for longer than I need to." You warned, standing firmly.

"Then it seems we'll be here all night." Envy said, not backing down. "Lynette, give them everything."

Lynette complied, and charged towards you. She punched at your stomach, and it hit. It felt like you got punched by a truck, and it knocked the air out of you, sending you toward a concrete wall, which you crashed into, making dust fly around you.

"Oh, that must've hurt." Todd commented, amused.

"Had enough yet?" Envy mocked.

Lynette walked over to your spot, and as the dust settled, she found... nothing. Confused, she looked around. She couldn't see you. But you were still there. Within your shroud of invisibility.

This was the perfect opening. You could easily get in a surprise attack and finish her off, but no. You were not fighting to the death. You were fighting for your friends. That's what a friend would do, and you weren't about to go back on that.

It'd be best to subdue Lynette, and that's exactly what you did. You summoned digital swords, and stuck her to the ground. Then, you came out of your invisible state, and stood before her.

"You done?" You asked, looking down at her. Lynette didn't answer. You looked at Envy. "Is she done?"

"...Stand down. For now." Envy said. She seemed annoyed that she had to.

You snapped your fingers, and the swords dissipated into tiny pixels. Lynette was freed and stood up, walking back over to her group. Not without looking back at you, giving you a glare that confused you.

It was a mix between "I want to punch you," "I respect your strength," and "I want to kiss you." Though that last one could've been your imagination. Likelyhood says that was just your brain being weird.

- You Win! -

"Alright. Now that that's done, how about we start on the right foot this time?" You suggested, sitting back down on the sofa. "I'm Y/N. Y/N Rowe, and I'm Sex Bob-Omb's artist, among other things."

"You're the one that does all the album cover and promo art, right?" Todd asked, remembering.

"That's me. I'd like to think I'm pretty good." You replied, smiling and crossing your arms. "Now, let's talk."

"Fine. So... Scott and Ramona, eh?" Envy started.

"What of it?" Ramona questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"You guys are a cute couple, you know? You suit Scott." Envy continued.

"So what's your ulterior motive, Envy? In general and aside from having your drummer get her ass handed to her by our artist, I mean?" Stephen questioned, suspicious of her.

"She doesn't need ulterior motives! Look at her! She got a writeup in Spin." Julie pointed out. "And Y/N's last attack was cheap."

"You call it cheap. I call it creative thinking." You shrugged.

"Yeah, Stephen, wow. I'm hurt. Wounded, even. I'm just saying, cute couple." Envy added, not letting the previous matter bother her. "I like your outfit, by the way, Ramona. Affordable?"

"Excuse me?" Ramona was offended, not that she would let it show.

"I was going to say, Envy, did you get those jeans from New York? They're totally-" Julie began to ask, but was cut off by Envy.

"I'm talking to Ramona right now." She said, not even bothering to look at her.

"Ramona is from New York." Julie added. It was painfully obvious she wanted to stay in the conversation at all costs.

"Is she?" Envy inquired, turning to look at Ramona.

"I'm not from there. I just lived there a couple years." Ramona clarified, not looking too happy to keep dragging things on.

"Did you like it? See a lot of the city?" Envy continued to ask.

"I... I guess I mostly saw the-" Ramona attempted to answer.

"The seamy underbelly? Strip clubs, backs of parked cars..." Envy snarked, looking unenthusiastic.

"I... what?" Ramona was caught off guard.

"Ramona! The look on your face! I'm kidding." Envy laughed, before turning serious.

"That's it!" Scott yelled, fed up with everything as he slammed his hands on the table. "That is it, you cocky cock!"

"Here we go again..." You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose.

"You'll pay for your crimes against humanity!" Scott exclaimed, reeling his fist back as he jumped over the table.

Todd seemed surprised, but promptly dodged his head out of the way before his eyes began glowing and his hair stood up. He raised his hand, and Scott began to float, clutching his neck.

"Kk... My neck... y...your hair..." Scott choked out before being raised higher. "Aaah! Dude, wait! Aaaa!"
